All the LA haters are dumbfounded, saying this was a fluke, and how the refs are on our side. That's why we need to shut them up and do it again next year. I still don't think we are elite status.... yet. |

I guess the bruins are in on nash as well.... what could they offer?? - Deadmau55
I start with offering Lucic and go from there. There are only 5 players on the Bruins roster I wouldn't trade if I were the GM: Chara, Bergeron, Rask, Siedenberg, Seguin. I don't know what it would take to include Hamilton in a deal, the Bruins just don't have any other prospects of his caliber in the system. |

Ok...to be totally upfront I did not speak with the ACTUAL landmass on which the beautiful city we call Vancouver now sits. It wasn't like a spirit animal guide/shamanstic thing. I merely talked to a source who works for the Hockey team there. I see how that confused you now. - Eklund

the lightning will NEVER trade lecavalier. get that through your head ek. you have no idea what he means to this franchise. i dont even know a lightning team without him. it would be like a funeral here if he left. every fan would be in tears. luongo isnt worth losing him. he will retire a bolt and 4 will forever be in the rafters at the times forum. id rather go after bernier. but tokarski and a 2nd would easily do it for luongo. you are putting his value wayyyyyyy too high. |

Jeez man, think the sharks are really in that bad of a spot? They had an off year, and could have very easily made it to 3rd. Then who knows. a couple players need to go, but you guys should be ok. |

I'll keep my mouth shut on that one, don't wana come off as a homer, but I think we could get better then that... |

Our team is nowhere near a contender, our core is (excluding Pavs and LC) 25+ and we have probably the worst prospect pool in the league.
Yeah, I'd say the Sharks are pretty (frank)ed |

Bernier's not worth a top-10 pick and a prospect...right now. If I were the Kings I would hold onto him and do what Vancouver did with Schneider; let him establish himself as a quality tender in the league before you shop him. Right now, he's worth nothing more than a good prospect, because that's all he is. Let him play, then deal him. |

Different situation. I could very easily go back down through the years and compare trades but that doesn't mean jack. Different team, different players, different situation.

Halak brought back a prospect drafted in the 1st round and an average prospect.
Seems to be the going price for young good netminders |

If Lou played the way quick did, then schneider would be in the same spot bernier is in. Bernier hasn't got a shot unless quick walks, especially with Sutter behind the bench. But every start bernier has had, has been good. When quick wasn't pulling his weight, bernier stepped in and did fine. You under-value him, as I over-value him. Circle of life. |

Your probably right, and that's probably what we get, just think we could get more but eh. As I said earlier, if quick walks, bernier stays.

And if Dwayne Roloson played the way Quick did the Lightning would have been in the playoffs. NHL GMs don't make trades based on all these "ifs" -- Bernier has great potential, but no track record. Bernier's NHL stats are less than impressive to this point (I believe that with time he will improve) and he is undersized. Bernier is going to be a good goaltender, perhaps even a great goaltender, but he isn't worth what you're asking. Jaro Halak, coming off an all-star playoff run, fetched that Canadiens Lars Eller and Ian Schultz. The Habs had a two-goalie system just like you do; it lowers bargaining power. Give Bernier playing time and he'll be worth what you want, but not now. |

You won't be elite status even if you win the cup cause I could see you missing the playoffs altogether next season.
I am not a hater though, I actually wanna see the Kings win the cup. They have a team built for the playoffs with a lot of grit and sandpaper (Canadians) So in my opinion they deserve to win. They've been the best team in these playoffs and have a great mix of guys. Reminds me of the Hurricanes when they won. Just happened to have the right mix at the right time and everybody played at their own level or above it.
I see the kings fighting next year for 6-8th spot again and hey anything can happen once you get into the playoffs.
I don't think you'd want to be labelled an elite team anyways. Teams that dominate in the regular season seem to not have the grit and desire to do anything in the playoffs most of the time anyways.

For the record, I never made a bid, that was someone else, and I don't feel like checking who. And I agree with you. As much as it pains me, you are right and I'm wrong. Bernier needs playing time, hasn't gotten it, so you have to go by what you have seen so far, ok I get it. |

That's what I was saying. We can't be a one and done team, we need to go on another run next year, but I disagree, I think we are stronger next year. With gagne coming back, and maybe getting parise, the youth grows, and winning becomes a culture now.

I can't understand how people forget how dominant Luongo has been in his tenure with Vancouver. Sure, he did not have as good a season as Quick, and even his best seasons may not have been as good as Quick's, this season, but Lou has been far more consistent than Quick.
Other than this year, Lou has been a top5 (even top3 a couple seasons) goalie in the league since he joined Vancouver, and wasn't too shabby while in Fla, either.
Schneider still had to establish himself behind quite an impressive goalie. I wouldn't say he's had an easier path than Bernier, at all. |
