I don't think torts will let that happen. But you really gota wonder if all those game 7's are starting to take a toll. And then even if you do manage to beat the devils, the kings are a more rested team. Do they have enough in the tank for two more game 7's?? we will see. And thank you for the support, if its anything to you, I would much rather play the devils. - Deadmau55
What is the record for most playoff games played by a Cup winner? Calgary played 26 out of a possible 28 in 2004 (2 Game 7s and 2 Game 6s) and as soon as they lost the 25th game I knew they stood no chance of winning the last game. |

Apparently AV admitted today Luongo wants out of Vancouver. Well, this changes things, perhaps - S Kaspar Rollins
Not unless he also admits his contract is too big and agrees to voiding it...it changes nothing. |

I honestly have no clue, but the simple fact the rangers have played way more games then us, tips in our favor. Still a scary team though. It would be a real laugh if torts started poop with sutter. |

I don't know but if the Rangers win the cup, they'll play all 28. Never in the history of sports would there be a team that would frustrate a fanbase the way the Rangers would if they win. |

I agree, I already figured Luongo was a goner in any case, and I doubt it changes the dynamics of the negotiations much. That said, I would be shocked if the Lecavalier thing actually happened - Canuck fans might be disappointed in the return but I doubt it would end up being that. |

It's not just the amount of games. The amount of punishment that comes with blocking all those shots in all those close games.. |

They will be very disappointed by the return, the best shot at getting talent back will require taking serious money back...like Komisarek... |

That's generally what people refer to when they wonder about the number of games, yes. |

Taking Komisarek doesn't exactly hurt. You can very easily turn around and flip him to a team with an internal cap with a 2nd rounder or something. Or just buy him out. |

Considering all the rumors you hear, it seems Burke is probably the front runner and most willing to give up assets to acquire Nash. I would have to think this would probably involve the #5 pick. For Oiler needs that #5 pick would give them either Reinhart, Murray or Forsberg, which would be more of an organizational need than Yakupov, and from #5 to #1 picks would come with a real asset. If Columbus wants to get the first pick without overpaying grossly to move up one spot, they could jump four spots, making trading Nash to toronto an enticing option.
Maybe Cloutier was right all along... |

I wouldn't be surprised at that, but I think Lecavalier is just TOO horrible a contract for them to take on. |

The thing with that is... its not working. They haven't dominated any series, they have all been to game 7. They have had little to no rest. You would think blocking shots would pay off in the end somewhere down the line, but it hasn't yet.

Exactly, or just dump him in the minors (doubt he's worth a 2nd, if he was, Toronto would have dumped him by now.) However, a guy like Lecavalier is a poopton more expensive. |

If I'm the Maple Leafs, I'm holding on to that #5 pick with my life. They need young talent desperately. Possible shot at Galchenyuk or Grigorenko is good to pass up. Besides, the Leafs need centers. Nash won't help them there. |

I think he mighta meant van will be dealing from a position of weakness,
And wont be getting a kings ransom for lu.
Most of us already knew this because of that horrible contract, but now canuck fans might have to face the truth as well

I think its either a dump for little return ( the salary dump IS the value)
Or
They take a bad contract back, and then get some valuable assets added with said contract. |
