The omission of Kessel and the addition of Horton who made a living hanging around the net(Kessel couldn't find a dirty area of the ice with a GPS) was a major factor IMO. |

Or the corollary: Pronger's Richard was the driving force behind his trade to Anaheim, leading to the Ducks' Cup win. |

9 goals 6 assists in 15 playoff games.

Yeah and none when it mattered most. Where Horton scored the double OT winner in game 5 against the Habs. The Game 7 OT winner against the Habs. The assist on the Lucic goal that put a spike in Philly's coffin and the game 7 winner of the ECF. |

because free agents is the best--the ONLY--way to build a team. - DoubleDown
Well when the team has nothing you kind of have to wait for your picks and suport them with FA's.
No FA's means they have to find a way to trade for something with nothing, and everyone you call will only ask for your top prospects in return.
So it ends up being a long process.
The Schultz trade is a good start. And Now that the Oilers have a good stable of prospects maybe they can trade some more of them to bring the team to the next level. |
