That's not true.

Also, a lot of immigrants come here knowing none, and when given the choice, which language do you think they'll learn?

It would be hilarious to have a coach who is bilingual, but refused to speak French with the media. Bertand Raymond would have a coronary.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAH THAT WOULD BE SO FUNNY!

I'm not anti-anglo but rather Pro-Franco.

I find it important for us to know english, but even more important to know french.

- QuebecPride

meh. within a century or three, neither language will exist like they do now and as long as we can understand each other, who cares? There are bigger and better things to worry about.

I don't blame them, I would probably do the same.

Parizeau's an idiot.

i don't know man, i live here, i think i could tell you if immigrants speak french or english. yes, some come here knowing neither, but when they want to open up a store they to have to learn french because of the laws, as opposed to english.

Oh yeah and in 300 years there will probably be an international government that will rule everything, so why even bother talking about hockey on a website?

You know what? In 300 years I'll most likely be dead.

He wasn't the only one. Some pencil neck (frank)face with the Boston globe made the ascertion that Timmy should give back his Silver medal because he didn't want to meet a politician. According to this guy, its impossible to love one's country without loving its current regime.

Stalin would be proud.

Montreal is a bilingual city, not a French city with a few anglos here and there, you can get by knowing one or the other. I speak both and wish more people did, but not my (frank)ing hockey team, I want them to win games. It would be great if they had some french content, but hockey > PR.

My step-father works as a fonctionnaire for the government and most often with immigrants, and my best friend's father is an immigration-specialized lawyer, I can tell you that most of the allophones coming here don't speak a word of french, and when given the chance to choose they will choose la langue de Shakespeare.

its beyond your control or anyone elses. to think otherwise is irrational. languages have always changed. the advent of globalization has ensured its acceleration.
