right on haha. I guess what I mean is... is the fan base as a whole confident that Schneider will be good for a whole year? I mean he has played second fiddle his whole career, and its a big step up. Not trolling, just wondering. - Deadmau55
Schneider is more technically sound than Roberto ,a better positional goalie with quicker reflexes and a better glove hand. |

Lack
It will almost be identical to the Quick Bernier tandem - VANTEL
I think Lack will get more starts than the 16 Bernier got last season. |

Almost no doubt in my mind. Luongo had the skill and ability, but at times was mentally lacking or unprepared. Schneider has the same gifts as Luongo, but also is as calm as they come.
USA is going to have a tough time picking 3 goalies for the next olympics. - Fosco
Yes he was calm, but he has never had the workload of a starter as far as im aware.

I think they'll sign a vet to play along side Schneider, Lack to spend another year in the AHL? But I was wrong once before. |

Call it a hunch. He's excelled at every level. He came into some tough situations last season—the Boston and Chicago games come to mind—where he was cold after sitting for a while, and stepped right in. He also had a few decent streaks where he played several games in a row. |

It's possible. His contract situation makes it complicated. If he only signs a 1 year deal, and plays less than 20 NHL games next season, he becomes a UFA in 2013. If he signs a 2, than those rules don't apply. As an RFA, he may also try to hold out for a 1-way contract.
Also depends what's available on the market. I wouldn't be surprised to see some training camp invites, like Legace last season. |

Burke was actually pumping Kessels tires to put him in the mix of the Hart running. Lots of TO fans still high hopes back then. |

OK lets discuss it .With Burkes history do you think he will trade this one too like he does sooooooooooooo many other times? - VANTEL
Doubtful he trades it.
IF he were to trade it:
A. He'll try to move up to #1/#2. No way Habs/Leafs deal. No point with NYI.
B. He'll likely trade down a few spots if Grigorenko and Galchenyuk are gone (obviously Yakupov/Murray are drafted by then) knowing the Ducks (6th), Wild(7th) and a number of other teams are after D. At that point Faksa could be the the target.
C. If he pursues a player with the 5th, it's Nash.
In all likelihood, Grigorenko or Galchenyuk are a Maple Leaf on June 23.

you gota feel that organization is under huge pressure to make a splash, and if thats lou, then the leafs have a fighting chance at the playoffs. But regardless, of who it is, I think they over pay. They are in a pretty odd spot, where you really can't win either way. Gota feel for the leaf fans...

This one I could very well see and that leaves you with no draft pick again . Nash would not help the rebuild but I could see any team kicking the tires on that.It would require mor than the 5 th though .You would probably need to put Gardiner and Schenn or Kadri in also. |

I see it different. It has been rumoured Schenn /Armstrong for Lu and maybe even Raymond. That is a fair deal.
If they take a guy like Harding who has played I think 24 games total and try to outbid the other 9 teams for 4 mil per on an unproven goalie.UFAs will have bidding wars .Luongo would be a straight up trade. |

I don't get this...
The Leafs gotta make the playoffs??? Really..why do they?? We have a packed building every night. Most leafs' fans would love a patient rebuild.
Burke wants to save his job...well, he can explain to management that he is implementing a plan to add young players to have 5-7 years of playoff hockey and not just 2-3... which in the long run would pad ownerships" pockets even more.
This "Leafs have to make the playoffs" is BS... We would just get killed in round one by a top seeded team like Boston, Pitt, or Philly.
- Draft BPA @ 5
- Sign Schultz
- Trade for some young RFA
- Keep Armstrong, Lambo, Komi and Connolly and hope they rebound and you can trade 3/4 at the deadline for picks and prospects and draft BPA again in 2013. |

The 5th + Gardiner + Schenn for Nash would NEVER happen!
Why wouldn't he just keep all of those assets and back the truck up for Parise? |

Burke knows Parise is heading to Minny.
CBJ wants a roster player ,a pick and a prospect for Nash. You better be damn sure Edm will come hard and maybe offer the firt overall .They have a pool of young prospects too. |

Thats what im trying to say. The canucks know the leafs are in a spot where if they don't make the playoffs, people will lose jobs and things will get out of hand etc. The leafs need lou, But they need the playoffs more. The leafs are desperate, and i think you guys will exploit that. The leafs will over pay.

Leafs have to make the playoffs, because I dont even think ive seen a leafs playoff game, and Ive watched hockey for a long time. Your team had it this year, and then they flew off the rails and everything went to poop. Your team can make the playoffs, and don't gimme that poop that lower seeded team wont go far in the playoffs. I know what im talking about as far as that goes.... If you were a team in florida i could see your argument. |
