TO has no hope for the next 2 years with this team of seeing the playoffs. There are very few impact goalies that could help your team RIGHT NOW.Take a pill and relax and next year we will be bashing him ,and you will be praising him, but it is your only chance of making the playoffs.
- VANTEL

I find this funny seeing as toronto was in the playoffs till the last month, and with their prospects showing some talent they will only be better next season.. Also have you taken a look at some rfas out there?

Lu performs so well under pressure. He'll love Toronto.

Toronto fans are alot more forgiving than Vancouver fans. I think He'd do quite well there.

Except for the fact that Giguerre was already washed when that trade happened up and Luongo is still an elite goalie in the NHL.
- Fosco

Well if that's true - that he's still elite(whatever that means), then perhaps just perhaps someone will give the Canucks elite return. But I'm guessing since he's not even the elite #1 on his own team, that perhaps he just isn't viewed as being elite anymore.... which would kinda make him alot like Giguerre was.

Komisarek and Reimer is fair value, Schneider/Reimer and Luongo/Scrivens would be strong pairings for both teams.

Vancouver does not want any goaltender that Toronto has. Lack is a better goaltender then either of your goaltenders. This is the reason that Luongo is even being considered. With Luongo the leafs should make the playoffs. And Lombardi is way more realistic then komisarek. We don't need washed up D-men but a 3rd line center is something we do need. I would be happy with a Schenn and Lombardi for Luongo trade. Van gets an under achieving prospect and a salary dump. Toronto gets a chance to make the playoffs.

Any goalie with a save percentage of .915+ gets the Leafs in the playoffs, at which point the 18 skaters in front of the net get a more appropriate evaluation.

Its not so much the fans its the media that protects goalies. Ive been watching the Leafs for a long time and have seen someone awful goaltending come through and not many have been thrown under the bus, even when they deserved to be by the media.

The fans, the dumb ones (and there are quite a few) flip flop a lot on goalies. Poor Belfour almost got run out of town his first pre season game but the media tends to go easy on the goalies for some reason.

We can be pretty brutal at times though, like the guy who kept chanting "Ronald" every time Joey MacDonald played.

The numbers don't suggest this. Scrivens has posted identical numbers to Lack and in the AHL and is only 2 years older.

2 years older is the point. If Lack continues to develop in 2 years he may well be on Schneider's Level. But as a Canuck fan I can only hope. As for Scrivens, I dont' know much about him so I won't comment. But if you are calling him equal to Lack then you guys better not be relying on him as a starter for at least 2 years. And I would call that a BIG if still with no NHL experience. I would make an educated guess the Canucks don't have Lack in their starter plans in the near future.

Stats aren't everything. Lack is better, but not by a huge margin. Lack is ranked the 3rd best goalie prospect in the world, behind Markstrom and Holtby, and Scrivens is actually at a pretty respectable 15th (per goalie guild).

Canucks don't need another goalie prospect. They also have Cannata, who was will likely be every bit as good Lack in a few years.

The Canucks may look for a veteran backup if they choose to keep Lack in Chicago for another season. Don't really think the Leafs have a goalie that fits that profile to put in a deal.

Dude. Seriously. Quit pretending like you know the Leafs and what's best for them. You sound like a used car salesman when it comes to Luongo and the Leafs.

On the flipside, I guess we could also say that Vancouver's "ONLY CHANCE" to win a cup is in the next 2 years, because in 2 years the Sedin's will be 34 and it already appears that their best years are behind them given that their production has been steadily declining for the past 3 years.

Give it a rest.

- As_I_See_It

The Sedins production has been declining in the last 3 years??? Did they not both win some pretty major hardware in the last 2 years?? Sure they had an off year this year and are aging, but their point totals have not been on the decline.

It will be for Schenn.

Everyone knows he will not be returning to play the final years. That contract was designed to be cap friendly.Do you think he will train like a madman in the summers to come back and play for 1 mil?

Lottery picks don't always help ask EDM.
- VANTEL

Hey idiot, how long did it take the Sedins to become elite players?

It won't be long before your window is closed and Edmonton will be far closer to a cup than the Canucks are.

... and the rest of North America will love it.

Is it really that absurd. From what I've seen on these boards, half the TO fanbase is willing to drive him to the airport and half want to give him the key to the city.

Luongo has value. He's not a salary dump. He will cost more than spare parts.
