About to test drive a Hyundai Santa fe
- homiedclown

They look and run great for a couple years and then the quality fails. Even the paint starts to fade..

Just an observation...

Kia on the other hand makes a quality car.

Anyone ever have a Nissan X-Terra? I was looking into something no so 8cyl as my Sierra and those look nice but I never rode in one. Just starting to kick the tires. Hate giving up my pick up.

Wasn't saying you should go with a Trail Blazer, just that she didn't have her Santa Fe very long. I like my little car. I put gas in it 2x a month. It's small but it sits higher than a normal car and I have cargo space if I need it.

mother in law has one she loves it. I drove it for a couple days and didn't like it. Everything looks nice but feels fragile. Maybe I'm just used to a truck.

Wife had a Pathfinder, which is similar. She wanted something smaller and more fuel efficient, so she drives a nice 4 dr car now. Once she is done with that one, she is either getting another Pathfinder or Xterra. Nice rides.

I get about 32 mpg. Plus I live under 5 miles away from where I work. Most days, that's the only place my car goes. I barely put 8000 miles on it last year. And that was with taking it to Columbus once and Cleveland 3 times.

Found this on Yahoo about Kia's... Someone was asking pro's con's of Kia.

It's a good deal if you are planning on keeping it FOREVER.

They've got a great warranty, 5 yr 60k bumper to bumper and 10yr 100k powertrain. That means that basically every really expensive part is covered for 100 thousand miles and most every other repair is covered for 60 thousand miles. Pretty good compared to the crap 3 yr 36k warranties that most car companies offer.

The problem, as others have pointed out, is the resale value. Kias take a huge hit on value the minute they drive off the lot. One big reason is that the 10yr 100k warranty doesn't transfer to a new owner. The second reason is simply because of their somewhat lack luster appeal, the highly stylized Soul might change that lack luster appeal and it could hold value better than past models. I wouldn't bet the bank on it but there is a real possibility here.

Reliability is less than average with both Kia and their stablemate, Hyundai (Hyundai purchased Kia in 2003 and now all Kias are rebadged Hyundais. If you don't believe me, check under the hood for the Hyundai "H" logo on the engine.) Kia's long warranty might be something that's highly valuable as the car ages, I'd stay away from a used one for just this reason.

So, long story short, it's a good car to buy new if, and only if, you plan to keep it for ten years. If you get rid of it early, expect huge loss in value. Keep it for ten years, true, it will only be worth two or three thousand dollars, but so would the ten year old Cobalt or Focus or Nissan Versa etc.

I'm selling my house as soon as I can and moving closer to work... I live on the other side of the city and the commute is a b1itch.

does anybody like the combination of trading for Shane Doan before he hits the market and moving up (by any means necessary) to get Galchenyuk?

I was high on the parise and nash bandwagon but i've tempered expectations somewhat and think this combo is pretty sharp.

I mean it sounds great, but also sounds like something you'd have to do in NHL11 after saving and trying three times.

I'm pretty sure that Doan has already said he won't play anywhere other than Phoenix. I may be wrong, but I feel like I remember hearing that at some point during the season.

It seems like the design a great product, and then cheap out like hell before production. The totally random things that go wrong with the dodge and jeep SUV's is unreal. replacing U joints and ball joints at 22k miles? All sorts of random things that shouldn't go wrong.

Sorry to burst your bubble. He would be a great add. But he's been in Phoenix so long, I just don't see him going anywhere else. I think he'd retire instead.

while i am not a huge fan of driving 25 minutes to and from work every day. I will chose that every day of the week over living in the city and having to deal with all the stupid people and all the noise. I enjoying being able to walk out in my front yard and taking a #1 and being able to walk outside without the drooly little puke next door asking me what i am doing and trying to be my best friend.

I have to replace my Driver Front U joint. 35K! Only issue I have had. Other than cheap gas clogging my plugs. Had to geet them flushed.

Good thing I know a little and my cousin is a mechanic. I love working on cars, but knwo poop about them but the basics.
