Someone deleted the drunken Patrick Kane photos I posted the other day. Don't know what's up with that...Maybe they made Garth cry or something?

He also said he expects Roy back so.............?
- dadeadhead

He's not going to tell the press that he's looking to move Roy. That would create a terrible situation where the team lacks leverage in trade talks and if they fail to move him, it would result in an even worse locker room situation.

EDIT: and the repeated use of "at this point" seems to indicate that he wants to move Roy.

Just keep it where it's meant to be.

And don't post that stuff in the main threads.

I have pulled a 180 on this Pat Kane thing. . .

I honestly dont get why the Pat Kane thing is a huge story. He is a professional hockey player, and also a early 20's male. Why is he not allowed to go out and get drunk on his vacation, but professional bankers, accountants, agents, etc.. are. Is it cause he makes millions? What about all the under agers who were drunk all weekend, why is that not a bigger story.

If I did exactly what he did right along side of him but took it to a more extreme who makes the news outlets me or him? Answer is Kane 100% of the time, because he has money, and having money apparenty means you are not allowed to have fun.

I would take Kane on this team over 98% of this roster.

i think they should keep Regher.. i know he is getting old and probably not worth the contract value.. but he is the vet of the group and is a defensive dman.. move weber, leo, sekera or brennan before him
- SabresFaninIndiana

Leopold is by far the most consistant defenseman the Sabres have had the last two seasons. 23 minutes a game night in and night out, and he doesn't disappear for weeks like everyone else on this team.

Regher isn't worth anything, and certainly not what they're going to pay him. Problem is, everybody in the league knows he's washed up too. He and Leino look like terrible signings right now, and Erhoff just had one of his worst career seasons. Maybe if Hoff didn't start the year with 20 terrible games, I wouldn't think he was a bust too, but the fact of the matter is that he did.

Darcy looks terrible going into this season (not that he has looked good in 6 seasons).

thornton for staff, leopold and a second

Ehhh..... I'm not sure I want an aging playoff choke artist that hasn't had a 30-goal season since 2002. In his last two seasons he hasn't reached a point per game, and in 113 career playoff games he has a whooping total of 19 goals.

No thanks.

I agree on the Leopold part....the rest, not so much.

No Ehrhoff didn't start off the season so hot, but he really turned it around and was definitely a huge part of the success late in the season. Our record without him in the lineup indicates he's not the bust you think he is. He also wasn't bad for the first 20 games, it was really just the first month. After that, he was fine. I also like the Sulzer signing because Ehrhoff's game took another step up when he was playing with him on a nightly basis. They have good chemistry together.

Regehr came in and did exactly what people should have expected him to. He's not a flashy guy. He's not going to put up points. He's going to lay out a big hit once in a while. I would have liked to see a bit more phyiscal play by him, but I don't think his season was as bad as everyone is making it out to be. I think it was more than people's expectations exceeded what the reality of the situation was always going to be. The fanfare surrounding the trade is what made everyone have these high expectations.

Oh, and Regehr wasn't a signing, he was a trade. So that statement wasn't completely accurate either.

Thornton isn't a goal scoring center. He's a set up center, which is exactly what this team needs. Someone who can feed the puck to guys like Vanek, Leino, and Pommer. They have nobody that's been able to do that lately. The jury is still out on whether or not Hodgson or Ennis can do that. Too soon to make that judgement yet.

in 79 playoff games for the sharks
Thornton has 69 points

Vanek has 20 points in 35 playoff games
Pommer has 28 points in 45 playoff games
Roy has 25 points in 41 playoff games
Staff has 7 points in 20 playoff games

We have nobody close to that and since Briere and Drury left, the few times we got in the playoffs we were pathetic on the pp and could not score goals.

If the goal is to win cups, with Miller
Thornton, a play making center, is exactly what this team needs

and he has 20 playoff goals, not 19

Not sure. When "faced" with that situation, I don't know if you're supposed to choke. I think I would.

Pat Kane seems like a huge dbag, but dbag or not hes extremely talented and has won a cup. If Chicago is shopping him I would listen because his stock is low right now and you could probably get him for a good price. He just needs a few years to mature off the ice and he'll be fine.

I've always been against the idea. But I wonder, since he grew up a fan of the team, is it possible that if he becomes a Sabre he finds a new level of drive and passion for the game? It's one of those intangiables that is impossible to predict. The exact opposite could happen instead.

If you were to bet your mortgage I would go with that outcome.
