Lucic and Rask for Kane is what you say you're hearing.
If the Hawks have made up their mind not to bring Kane back then im ok with it , and i LOVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEE Lucic , not sure if Rask is much better than Crawford , I still think if the Hawks are intent on movin kane they can get a very nice bidding war going between :
Boston , Buffalo , Montreal , Philadelphia , Pittsburgh , Tampa , and Florida.
The possibilities are almost endless - mrpaulish
ya paul, but when you ask , you'll get the shoulder shrug.....something is up, a drop of water seeped out behind the plummers putty! i just said to JJ, i need more than those 2 for kane. would rather see a deal with frame work of kane, leddy, brassard & nash with columbus! but that is IF only we sign suter! i am all for dealing leddy to get a good young kid like brassard! |

Why would Boston do that trade? I would take Lucic over Kane straight up, none the less for him and their future goalie for the next 10 years. Also, Rask is better than Crawford, much better. - Rally_Shots
Thats what Im saying , If I was Boston , WHY would that be acceptable ? |

are you the same sabre guy wanting to give us leopold and some other heap for kane??? you guys have to START with miller & myers or stan will hang up on ya. so kane probably will not wind up in buffalo till he's about 35 to wind it down! |

why would the hawks do that deal? you need more for kane than just a goalie who al be it has a bright future but hasn't won anything yet and a good solid hard nosed 20 -25 goal winger............kane will get 50 a year for the bruins. i am betting there are probably more pieces each way also being talked about. orrrrrrrrrrrrr it's zzippp! i look at columbus instead! Because Lucic is a monster. Kane's days of taking over a game might be over. |

No I think of reasonable trades. Don't lump Sabres fans together just because one moron comes on here with a trade idea. And if you think Kane is worth a package deal of Myers + Miller + something else then you're delusional. Kane is talented but hes got serious issues, and becoming a star has really gotten to his head it seems. Not saying I would take him on my team, but not for that. |

Agree. It's not even close. As a Philly fan I'd love to see Boston get fleeced like this though |

Exactly. Id rather the Hawks find a pure sniper that Kane can set up for years. Sure Kane can score a little but he might be the best set up man in hockey. Kane is a supreme A++++ passer. - mrpaulish
If I'm a hawks fan I would want to find a goalie first and foremost. Even an average goalie would do wonders for you guys IMO. |

No way Boston gives Lucic Rask + for Kane. You are overvaluing. |

I know he struggled this year, but what about Dubinsky? Because of his poor regular season could he be had? Saad and Stalberg for Dubs and Woywitka? He sure would look nice between Sharp and Hossa or on Toews' LW. |

I don't see Kane as having MANY 50 goal seasons...maybe many 30 goal seasons....but for some reason the Boston guys like bickell alot..Kane + Bickell for Lucic and task or thomas |

They need a goal scorer not another passer... Which is why Sharp and Kruger OR Hammer OR prospect AND pick for Statsny would be a pretty great deal.
Or Sharp + Any Rockford player + conditional pick for Duchene's rights
Solves problems for both teams - fattybeef
Isnt he a passer fatty? |

That still doesnt change the fact that I would rather take a football hit from Kimbo Slice then have the Hawks make a trade with your roster of underachievers. |

nice writeup
so trade kane to a team like boston that will surround him with big physical players and - molly2522
Question....
Why would Boston want to give up on Rask now as Thomas is close to the end of his contract?
There would be only one good reason...Because they don't feel Rask is a true #1, although they have watched him at the NHL level for a few seasons.
Rask is still young and talented but also has a reputation for being a loose cannon concerning his emotions... |

Hi JJ! I was just about to ask about Barry Smith...do you really think Q would want him on the bench? If you could pick outta the three(smith crawford renney) what wiuld the order be? And i don't mean to be a picky brat, but when can we expect the Suter blog, where you mention the one thing the Hawks have going for them that you have not disclosed yet - captainserious
I think Crawford would be his first choice, maybe Renney or some other TBD candidate would be second, Smith third.
Why I think he might take Smith on: smart political move as far as keeping Scotty's support, he can also check the box of bringing in a "power play expert." Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer.

This is what I think.
Boston would have to be aware of some serious shortcoming/issue with Rask for this to happen.
Lucic, Rask + for Kane + Crawford? Maybe. |

YES JJ! you're the man!! hope it is 1 of the 3 !
watch the boston thing JJ, ........there are some chicago ties there, but team people and reps will just give you a blank stare or a smirky smile if you ask. doesn't mean there isn't a crack in the wall that some water/info seeped through. personally i like the brassard/nash thought better! give em leddy, especially if we can get next to ryan suter!! - wonthecup10
See my next blog. I am nearly 100% certain the Hawks will not get Suter if they deal Leddy. Leddy would be very important to getting Suter, IMO. |

If it isn't an issue the Bruins won't consider trading Rask now...Thomas is in his last year and that will be a big hole to fill.
My point is Rask isn't untouchable but close unless there are issues the Bruins don't like....In that case the Hawks shouldn't want him.
Rask is an RFA and the Bruins are sitting pretty with him....Even with a significant raise they will be nowhere near Thomas money and Rask is only 25. |

Im not saying Lucic is available but what if Boston wanted Kane the hawks wanted Lucic and the Bruins said fine but you HAVE to take Rask too, id still make that deal Crawford is not really good , at all.
Once again , this is ONLY IF THE HAWKS HAVE decided to trade Kane , still want a sniper to line up next to Kane. |
