Lundqvist has been this way all season, hate to break the news to you.
I don't think Jersey will quit but that doesn't mean they will extend this series into the weekend.
Lundqvist is in a zone and the Rangers are not afraid of the Devils.
Unlike in 2003, Jersey doesn't have a superior defense and a superior goaltender anymore. - MidnightMarauder
Not to take anything from Henry as he's made some great saves in the series so far but the Devils have made it easy for him. Game 2 they get bodies in front of him and they win, games 1 and 3 they were unable to do that and lost. I guess you can also credit the Rags defense as well for clearing out the traffic in front of him.

He has made some great saves, especially last game. He is the reason they are up. Take away the goalies we are the better team and have played like it.

What would a Devils defense really do to stop the goals in games one and two. One was because Girardi came off the bench, one was a faceoff win, Krieder's shot in the first game was one mental lapse, and the Krieder's goal in the last game banked off his skate, or something. It's not so much about superior defensive, the Rangers are opportunistic and the Devils just aren't getting any pucks by, but it's not due to lack of effort.

If you look at most of the goals the Rags have scored Marty has been screened. Our defense needs to do a better job of clearing the crease and not having guys camped out right in front of Marty on those shots from the point. The Rags defense is doing a better job at clearing the crease than ours but then again it's a lot easier to do when they have all five guys in front of their goalie.

Games 1 and 3 had too many mental lapses. When Girardi came off the bench, our positioning was still terrible. We gave Kreider a ton of time to make a play and we had 3 people standing around watching and not really doing anything defensively. Atrain was way out of position on the Kreider goal. Game 3 the Girardi goal was a bit unlucky. Just a lost face off. The second goal was just an incredibly soft play by Zidlicky. We need to be more aware defensively.

Not saying this defense is bad, because it isn't, but that Devils defense in their heyday was staggering.
Stevens, Niedermayer, Rafalski, a young Colin White, Daneyko and a various cast of solid 6th defensemen to play in front of dominant Brodeur was almost impossible to break.

Did anyone see the new interpretation of words?
Saying that one hit by a player was "headhunting, plain and simple" means that DeBoer said that Prust is a cheapshot artist and a headhunter. Some people need to get a (frank)ing clue sometimes.

I agree 100%, the Devils don't have that dominant defense with a world-class goalie no more. The Rangers now have a great defense with a world-class goalie in hank. The Devils will have to out-play the Rangers big-time and they still might not win the series because of Hank.

If the Devils just can find one break, any break to get that first goal, it's a different game, and that's all it comes down to. If the Devils score first, they will win because the scoring confidence comes oozing out after that, when they don't, they get frustrated. When the Devils have chance after chance and then the Rangers score on a point shot by Girardi, the level of frustration has to be through the roof.

I feel the same way, this is a big problem for the Devils. They can carry the play for 20 minutes but not score then the Rangers can get one break and score and the game is over. Marty has been good but he still the 4th best goalie left in the playoffs (way behind Hank, Quick and Smith)
