Were talking back-ups for us? What's wrong with Bob?

Harding is going to get a starting job somewhere like Tampa Bay. Dude's not a back-up.

- mochoson

I agree, IO thought we were talking back-ups here.

Nothing wrong with Bob, but I want a solid veteran who isn't pushing for starts, just here to back up and be a chill guy

I agree. The conclusions the author draws are reactionary on the Kings looking like they're going to the Finals. It is way too premature to judge the Richards trade. However I love the comments by Hextall about Richards. And also the author's on Richards as a player. I think that part of the article is dead on. But I think Richards is playing much better then you give him credit for.

i have no problem with the kings point of view for being willing to make the deal. for the author to make the comparison of his supposed off-ice issues over a period of time with his nhl club for which he is being handsomely rewarded to that of being on an international team that competes in a tournament is like comparing a watermelon to a dog. it's not valid.

Basically. And if it's a guy like Biron, he can talk to Sam and Frank and Tim and let Bryz worry about the universe

i'd have no issue with biron coming back here for a low salary and moving bob for something of value - even though i bought a bob jersey last season. kiss 'o death.

One is their 7th round pick from last year. Derek Mathers is a big dude, top notch fighter. Some of the folks I follow on twitter feel that he's got underrated puck skills and a good shot. Others feel he's nothing but an enforcer type.

Don;t know a ton about the other kid, Johnston.

Well I don't agree there. The Author was showing a pattern in Richards history of being a leader, a top player, and a winner at all levels. So it is valid based on the theme of his article and his premise that you don't trade a player of that character. I don't agree with the author that you can judge the winner of the trade right now. We know the trade was made for the future, not now. But both the author's and Hextall's comments on Richards are accurate in my opinion.

i was making a connection to your agreement with hextall's position, that the off-ice issues were overblown, to his point about richards being valuable enough to be on those other teams as being apples and oranges. again, i agree about his value on the ice for any club.

i didn't go back and re-read the story - so his point about richards being on those other teams might have been from a pure hockey perspective. i thought he was trying to say his issues weren't any kind of deterrent for being selected to those teams. if not, i retract my comment.

Where the Hell are those kind of penalties when the Flyers played the Rangers? Boyle just tackled Fayne in the offensive zone. Rangers seem to be a mess.

i recall only one time during the entire 6 game season series where the flyers led by 2 goals: the wc. when you're winning all the time there's often not much reason for taking penalties like boyle just did. game 4 of the ecf is also a tad different than a single game at any point of the regular season.

my stance on left-handed goalies is well documented. just say no.

I'd take Harding as my goalie any day.

I think they we're expecting more out of Heatley this past year.

I really like Mikko Koivu.

- stveshdy

They likely get more out of Heatley with a healthy Koivu. He's their best player and he missed most of this year.

Devils are ballin' right now but they really have no choice cause going down 3-1 in the series is a big hill to climb out of. I still think the Devils are the better team in this series. I picked NJ in 7. Very underrated.

Doc: "Aaaaaaaaaaand game 5 will be held later this week at 8:15 or so, right here on the NBC Sports Netwrok, which actually has been your previous home for the World Hockey Championships won by Evgeni Malkin...."

So, Doc, only Malkin won the trophy? Stop it. It's little disgraceful comments like this that make me hate NBC.

Would of been nice for the fans to catch those tears after being eliminated on home ice.

I thought the Flyers were outplayed badly in most of those games. It was quite mind boggling that they couldn't even get the puck out of their own end. What was even more embarrassing is going almost an entire period before registering a shot. The Flyers looked like a team that was in last place playing against the best team in the league. The Flyers had a lot of injuries but the execution was piss poor throughout that series.

The forwards seemingly lost every board battle in either end, it was unbelievable to watch. The Flyers are a cycle team, who couldn't cycle against the Devils. They absolutely killed the Pens along the wall.
