He was one of the guys I was interested in when Pronger got hurt. Cap hit wasn't ideal, wonder if he's expecting a raise. - Jsaquella
As did I. Allen can eat up big minutes if needed and is a large man. Can move the puck just fine but nothing flashy. What do you think he will get in the UFA market?

I'd guess around $3-$3.5mm
Grossmann got that, I'd expect Allen to get in that neighborhood, too. Should have qualified the original post with "significant" raise.

I could see him going for more just cause he is a UFA in a tight market this year. That said, if it was possible to get him for 3-3.5 and we could swing it I would seriously consider. I think the kid can still grow into his game and wouldn't be relied upon to the "the man" here (he was a 2-4 pairing in Carolina right?).
Not sure what you're getting at, but I think you are unclear on your opinion, and that is why people disagree with it and you should as well. Stated differently, you should disagree with your opinion.
I am not a NOBODY in the hockey world - I've been to at least 3 games over the past decade. I even saw Chris T. and Danny B at Wegmans. That is a resume you can have fun with your hand over. - Daman

I think that the Flyers still need a puck moving guy more, although Allen is a solid stay at home guy
but with any opinion there needs to be factual information behind it. Add some spreadsheets, web references and anything else to make sure it stands up on the buzz.

how about poaching Carlson from the Caps? - KGBflyers10
Good luck.
He's a fantastic dman, but a turnover machine. He's only going to get better, but those who get on Carles case would probably have a (frank)ing coronary if we got Carlson.
Your basically talking Brayden Schenn if you want Carlson.

I still would be interested in bringing back Kubina, health permitted, at a reasonable price. Nothing longer then 2 years, 1 year preferred.
Prioritys 1 and 2 are re-upping Jake and Carle IMO. Nothing else until that gets done.
Still want Jagr to come back, but depending on what the other two get, we may have to get creative to do so. He's going to have to take less then what he took this year, but I think he understands that.
If no Kubina, I'd be interested in a guy like Coliacavo. Him, Gus, and Lilja gives us enough depth on the bottom pairing to deal with injuries. Anything more then that goes to Kessel and Manning IMO.

There was a Caps beat guy who said last week that they think Carlson's a future Norris contender. He'd be expensive in a trade.

I wouldn't argue that, but I'd expect nothing less from a beat writer for the Caps. Of course they think so.
He certainly would be expensive. Caps have no reason to move him or Alzner. They have solidified their D for the forseeable future through good drafting. No need to create holes in your line-up that aren't easily filled.

It was freezing really bad, couldn't watch it...saw one of his shifts after the goal, but too bad to really see much. Looks like he has decent wheels. - Jsaquella
Could be a decent 2 way center, may not be a huge point producer.
