In the off-season, yes. And this is just a pretty common knee injury, that was already public knowledge. So I do think some clarification is in order -- if the knee was, in fact, the only problem -- from how things went from "needs knee surgery and is taking injections to get through playoffs" to "knee is fine" within 10 days. - bmeltzer
He added another N to his name. Roughly equivalent to finding a health power up in a video game.

Not sure why we are worried about fringe players like Carle and Harts.
I would make a huge run at Rick Nash. If that doesn't work, then Zach Parise.
If we could sign either of these superstars, I would be willing to sign Carle at 1.5m - 2m and squeeze him under the cap.

Now that it's clear Grossmann's knee is OK, the question remains what the hell happened between Holmgren and then Grossmann reportedly telling Johan Garpenlöv that impending knee surgery and injections during the playoffs was the reason why NG couldn't play at Worlds and the knee being fine now.
Garpenlöv has repeated his version several times since May 9 and I 100% believe that it was he was told exactly that by the Flyers.
No one is about to own up to the other possibility -- that Grossmann still had concussion symptoms during the NJ series and took the risk to play in the playoffs, with the Flyers' knowledge. They then told Garpenlöv it was the knee as a cover reason, since Grossmann did suffer a knee injury late in the regular season and wore a second knee brace in playoffs. - bmeltzer
The Philly media needs to get on this immediately!!
They need to write the same article Sheridan, wrote today, about the Phillies but just insert Flyers!
This is an outrage!
Damn it! When are these Organizations going to stop lying to the people who cover the team!
*the above is complete and total sarcasm*
By the way, the first comment on that Sheridan piece was by someone well known on these boards. |

Can't sign too many guys to long term deals. When Giroux's contract expires in a few years he'll be getting a huge raise. |

I was thinking game-to-game contracts based on performance. Or maybe a pick-up style selection before every game. All are invited to tryout. |

Simmonds will deliver another knee drop to Giroux's head, turning the best player in the world into another Cindy Crosby. No way Claude Crosby gets 7.5m under these circumstances. |

2.9M last year you would expect him to get a raise. I was under capgeek not sure why Carolina has Jeremy Welsh for 17.9M cap hit?
Did I miss something? - stveshdy
