So wait, Ovi isn't working? You're right, he's just here to collect a pay check. No heart, no intensity, no physicality. Not the best player on the team almost every game. Get rid of the bum.

you really need to take a chill pill... and learn to read.

what you said isn't even close to what i said.

Could you imagine if we got Hecht and Goose re-signed so we had Roy, Hecht, Boyes and Goose as our 4 centers... DeadLY...

^^^ Oh-Em-Gee! Love this!!! ^^^
I'd move Boyes back to wing on Hodgson's line though. But! We'd have Leino AND Boyes to play center if someone got hurt!

Crosby too, he tied with Stamkos for the Rocket Richard in 2009-2010 and before his concussion in 2010-2011 was running away with the goal scoring lead as well. Ovechkin's advantage he always had in regards to the Crosby vs Ovechkin comparison was the goal scoring department and Crosby started to eclipse him in that as well.

If we are going to throw out perspectives here, in 2009-2010 OV played about 10 games less than both 87 and Stammer, and yet was only a goal behind; hardly being "eclipsed".

He was actually scoring at his second highest Goals-per-game rate and in all likelihood would have won.

It is also fair to say cindy was well ahead of him in 2010-2011 and would most likely have captured the Rocket out right, yet one (potentially) better season in the goal department - which never materialized - is a rather weak factor in swinging the pedulum one way or the other.

OV scored 38 goals this year, which is telling, if fans and the like consider it a disappointment.

This bothers me as well -- Ovechkin hasn't been the same player for the past two seasons for whatever reason(s), and may never be again, but he was fantastic for a long stretch, the best player in the league IMO (and in the opinion of his fellow players, who voted him MVP for 3 consecutive seasons). Some people conveniently forget this.

steroids ? i'm not trying to troll here , remember there were some pretty serious allegations. if it was true maybe the talent we saw during his first 5 years was "boosted" a little and now that he's stopped his production has dipped ? if it is just a case of attitude problems then maybe washington should think of trading him ?
he's clearly not the best player in the league anymore but could still fetch a "best player in the league" return. sell high !

Stamkos is still a kid though , hasn't peaked yet (scary to think of what he'll be doing at 28) OV should have drunk fron the cup by now.

Have heard the steroid rumors, but if he was using them for the first 5 or 6 seasons, what would have made him stop ? The Olympics ? He was playing out of his mind right up until the '10 Olympics in Vancouver. And if he stopped for the Olympics, why not start up again ? I would never dismiss the possibility, but it just doesn't add up.

Yea Stammer is going to have a long list of accolades when his career is over (if he gets to play with the right set-up guy). When Marty finally hangs up his skates, I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple down years for Stamkos, but the kid undoubtedly has elite talent and will always be a massive threat.

I was only responding to the Pens fanboy, who seemed to find it necessary to turn it into a 'cindy is better' discussion.
