In a perfect world we could sign Suter, he would really compliment Johnson I think. Though Eklund saying he is interested gives us no chance of signing here.

I think the avs have a good shot, if it is true that he doesn't want to play for a big market team. I have no idea why anyone would want to play for minne and if it comes down to Det vs the Avs, then you could make a strong argument that the avs would be the better choice.

I think the biggest reason why we wouldnt get sutter is the avs MGMT not wanting to give him the money he is looking for

Everything from that interview with Josh Kroenke indicated they wouldn't be going after anyone, at least that's what I got out of it. A man can dream though...

In all fairness, I wouldn't put too much weight into that interview. The avs have ALWAYS been a tight lipped organization. No one ever has any idea what the avs will do( look at every Trade deadline and UFA period in the last few years.) But what I can say is that they usually do something.

It should be fun to watch

Yeah I would have to agree, and I actually think that Josh knows very little about the Avs as a whole. What I said when that came out was that if Sherman went to him with a legit plan that involved making more money and winning games. He would gladly put up money for what we need.

He did not say that they wouldn't spend money on the team. He eluded to doing it when the time was right. It's not like ownership is waiting for cash flow, they can do it whenever they deem necessary.

Sherman : "Uh Josh, The time is right now.. The two biggest free-agents in this years class fill our two biggest needs as a team. I feel we could be close to contending again with this/these players"

And I don't think it would be a lie. With both of them as long as we made the playoffs while gaining chemistry over the season. We would be a threat in the playoffs. I think even with Semin and Suter we would be a legit threat again.

I think we will end up trading for one of Parise/Suter's rights actually.

And yeah damn Ek I am already a glass half full guy. This just makes it worse..

I'm not sure if Ek saying Av's are on Suter's shortlist means it's more likely or less likely for him to sign with them... but if he is thinking long term contract, Colorado makes far more sense than Minnesota. Detroit will argue they have been a cup threat every year for the last decade and a half, but... it could also be argued their window is about to close, while Colorado's should be opening in a few years and staying opening for a good while.

i just hope that if we do get Parise, Suter, Semin, or Carle in any combination, that they are worth the money cause ur looking at atleast 10mil if you get 2 and that can easily got to 14 or 15 mil. just hop they are worth it.
