number 1 draft pick + for staal +
but i duno, i would have to look at list and what holes are we filling, i duno know if they will resign asham with his latest health issues, and i dont want sulli back.. so to me we need some grit in the lineup as well as a top 6 winger...

I would really like him to be a penguin. He reminds me of a Guerin type guy. Maybe Brunette to assist with the pp?? |

I dont think that is by accident either. I think most GM's tried really hard to not have important players up for free agency with the CBA in question. - Gunner Staal
Yeah I would tend to agree. Most of the guys are older and aren't considered the "core players" anymore. |

i wanted burnette last yr and was alil mad chi got him but i watch him play and he wasnt that great IMO, so im actually glad the pens passed on him
im still in favor of 2 D on the pp, letang/nisk and despes/Z (if he is still around)
then split up sid and geno, and grab two big body guys for net front presence tangradi comes to mind... |

As you know I agree with this however the coaching staff barely puts him on the ice with actual hockey players let alone on the pp. If we can't get Sullivan back I say Brunette could be a comparable replacement.
I like the 2 d pp as well but I think that is because we all got so pissed watching the Flyers have breakaway after breakaway shorthanded last year and the two d would cut down on that. . hopefully. |

i feel the exact same way about brunette. i love splitting sid and geno in theory, but dont think it would realistically work in practice. i really did like sullivan bringing the puck up and passing on the powerplay, but if 2 D men back there stops this ridiculous short handed shennanigans, then i am fine with it. i think niskanen could be an asset back there full time |

hell remember morrows break out passes in the beggining of the year.. I would love to see up next yr but he is like 8th-9th guy on the D list.. he will be a great call up next yr though...

yeah i am all for giving morrow one more year before the pro game. if he forces their hand then find a spot for him i guess, but i would much rather he just learn for one more year. despres is the one i want to see full time and take the big leap. niskanen needs to be resigned as well |

I say if he is ready he is ready. Each individual is different. He might not need that time. |

If we are being fair you didnt think he would do what he did last year either, haha. - Gunner Staal
Maybe Dupuis is a late bloomer and will now be a consistant 25 goal scorer. |

That is the tricky part. 7 needs to be gone and quite frankly Im not so sure the Penguins feel the same way yet. |

He does if he doesnt find his form from his PHX days. Cant pay a guy 4M with little to no offense if he is not going to be exceptional in his own end. |

yeah shero really needs to open his eyes on that one. as far as michalek, i was very excited when they brought him here. i dont know if it was the system, his partner, or what, but he has not shown the consistent ability to shut down people. i think he has it in him though. im much more willling to give him another shot than martin. |
