If we signed Dominic "traded for a 2nd round pick" Moore, we could always trade him for a second round pick at the deadline like he gets seemingly every season lol.

There is always that.

I kinda feel happy for Jordan Leopold, he finally wasnt traded for a third round pick this past offseason.

I hate how Dominic Moore plays personally. I thought he was a puck hog when he played here, he would never cycle the puck down low, he would always try and fight through the bog and then lose the puck.

Yeah, I was a bit hesitant to throw his name up but there really isn't much to choose from the list.

I wouldn't mind Clemmensen backing up Fleury. Also, looking at the FA list and its pretty weak. Winnik, Brodziak, and Moore seem to stick out for possible targets.

it really does seem to be a fairly thin crop, although so was last years. i guess thats what happens now when more teams are locking up their own stars. makes the drafting and developing of your own players all the more important

I dont think that is by accident either. I think most GM's tried really hard to not have important players up for free agency with the CBA in question.

well he shouldnt be on sids line.. should be a 3rd line winger..

i feel they have too many 3rd/4th line players, when they call up wb/s guys, those 3rd line players become top 6 somehow... if they just use those call ups in the same spots as they were in the minors, they would adapt better and play better.. that is why I truely feel tangradi and jeffrey wont be good here bc the pens dont use them correctly..

definitely. that is kind of a blessing in disguise though, as teams that are forced to rely on free agency to bring in vital pieces often disappoint IMO

His stats from last year do not support that claim. Not too many third liners put up 25 goals with no PP time.

well as the having too many 3/4th line guys, i think that is kind of a result of having so much cap tied up in players such as 87 and 71, you really dont have the money to fill the rest of the line up with top 6 guys. i do agree that guys like tangradi and jeffrey need decent ice time in decent situations to shine, but on a win now team like the penguins, that ice time is typically not up for grabs to give to "player development" in big games. i would definitely like to see it early in the season though.

id be shocked to see him put 25 in, but if he hovers around 20, can still kill penalties and play defense like he has been, i am definitely on board with that for 1.5 million. i understand the logic of not wanting him on a line with sid, but right now the team doesnt have a whole lot of other options. either way, there would always be room on a team for a guy like that if i had a say

i definitely can see that. he really does not have the hands or offensive skill to be an ideal first line guy, but like i said, with so much tied up in a few players, it has to give somewhere.

i honestly feel this offseason is going to be a good yr to switch things up and fix problems..

as of lately i feel trading staal is better then letting him walk next yr to carolina (if we cant resign him cheap, 5.5-6mil), martin and Z should be traded to make room for some other guys, we can go after a big free agent, something we have never done before other then trading for hossa and not getting him...

im not saying blow up the roster, just tweek it alil

number 1 draft pick + for staal +

but i duno, i would have to look at list and what holes are we filling, i duno know if they will resign asham with his latest health issues, and i dont want sulli back.. so to me we need some grit in the lineup as well as a top 6 winger...

the coyote guys are interesting. ill pass on knuble, as i really think he is on his last legs. jones is intriguing from what ive read. i like parenteau, but i feel like he is going to get a large sum of money that we should stay away from
