I really hope Toronto does nothing. All this team needs to do is draft/develop players & quit trying to rush things.

Well the Leafs are once again in panic mode so this is precisely the kind of deal they will make.

so far nobody stacks up to the kings. the way to beat them is to do what the bruins did in the finals last year. beat the crap out of the kings because their pp is not good enough right now to win them games. the rangers have the cheap players who can do that but the devils no so much.

kings will win i think b/c they've played no really tough series yet and very few games.

lost opportunity for the canucks/blues who were the best teams in the west.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. They've had a lot of rest. The Rangers played about 16 games worth of hockey before the conference finals.

Millionaires fighting against other millionaires.

While us hundredaires and thousandaires suffer.

Figures.that's how life has been for thousands of years.

Respect and Inclusion? Sure it's not Greed and More Greed?
- allycat

no it's not. it's a real world issue for those that happen to make their living in the NHL. just because one party wants a fair shake does not mean it's pure greed. sure there's a ton of money in the pot. a ton. doesn't mean one side should crush the other.

It is possible that the people who actually do the work might have some ideas to improve the way things are done. You know, just like regular people--don't we all want to think that our ideas might be worthwhile at work?
- fourfeathers

wait the players aren't the workers in the NHL? so who is responsible for driving the revenue?

Umm, the players ARE the workers. That was my point.

The CBA negotiations determine if the players can afford to expand their car collection from 20 to 25 for the upcoming years. Of course it's greed.

Call me crazy, but I don't know why we justify paying people 7-10 million dollars a year to play a game. Back in the day, they played the same game for .01% of what they earn now. And they didn't even wear helmets..

back in the day that .01% that they earned was commensurate to what the owners are making.

The players make the owners billionaires. if you were responsible for the company you worked for bringing in hundreds of million dollars a year, you'd want to paid accordingly.
