Even so, like I said, he can play either side. Regardless of his salary, he (and by default) his line would play significant minutes, including PP time. There wouldn't necessarily be much distinction between the 1st and 2nd line. You can't play him at center, it would be stupid to split up Kessel and Lupul and you can't have 4 people on one line, so naturally he'd play with Grabo and Mac/Kuli. - Phenom

I mean obviously we could throw Nash onto the left wing and he could COPE with it but to expect him to perform at his usual pace on the opposite side he usually plays on is just stupid. And for 7.8 million?

They would be better off putting Kessel on the left and Nash on the right so both have more of the net to shoot at because Kessel shoots right and Nash shoots left. Offwing advantage. But still no center.
Nash isn't the solution, he's not a center, he would cost way too much to acquire and if by some miracle they did get him, playing on the 2nd line would be stupid.

Every time i play nhl 12 i always bring Kessel down the left. And agreed. His contract and the price to acquire him will be ridiculous. Especially now that there have been some massive upsets in the playoffs, you can count on contenders dishing out much more than the Leafs can afford. We need to get our hands on that O'rielly from Colorado.

Now I know +/- is an overated stat....but do you really think a rook who was +2 on this team, playing in 21 games, scoring 5 goals, was a defensive liability? Or you just repeating the same bullpoop we've heard from every Leaf commentator simply regurgitating what Ron Wilson repeatedly said about the kid.
Like enough already, watch the player and form your own opinion on him. At least UG says Kadri hasn't been strong enough on the puck, that at least I can sort've let pass though I disagree with it. But please, the poor defensive play in Kadri's game? That's so two years ago.

Devils had no problem with him playing center this year periodically and I'm pretty sure he was a center at U. of North Dakota. - gravyface
Can I ask what games you watched that this happened? I don't remember it at all. We played Henrique, Elias, Zubrus, Josefson, Carter, Mills, Zalewski, Sestito, Gionta and even Sykora for a couple games at center. Don't ever remember Parise.
