OMG!!! I can not wait for that clown to be off my team. I cant handle him anymore. I go into a fit of rage when I hear him mention. What was funny last year I went to a few games and they show this video of all teh Islanders and highlights at the beginning DP was all over the place then jsut a few times by the end of the season it was like he did not exist it was awesome. I actually got into a little shuffle with a fan who had a DP jersey on and was like really? He was like he is injured man not cool you wait he will be great. all I could do is laugh and laugh. I went home laughing woke up laughing and then was satisfied |

Hopefully this year is the year we say farewell to him? I know, I know, but a guy can dream can't he? |

well your prayers may be answered if the amnesty clause similar to the one in the NBA is added into the new CBA. That contract was horrid, even if DP doesnt turn out to be a band-aid

This teams management is so inept they will probably forego it to stage "DP's next big come back"! |

You finish 13th in the East again next year and get another killer prospect. What else do you think will happen? |

They'll still be over here busting balls. Incredible how a team in almost as much disarray as the Islanders has a fan base like the Leafs do? The Leafs WILL be a lottery team next year unless they get Luongo which I don't see happening contrary to a lot of people's opinion. |

The amnesty clause helps a team with an owner who spends too much and is having issues staying within the cap limit. It does not help the Islanders who have an owner who is very cash conscience and barely makes it to the cap floor. If you think Wang wants to pay DP and have it not count against the cap that would be wrong... If he is going to Pay him.. he will have it against the cap. He does not want to spend a Dime over that cap floor....
I do however believe DP is done as an Islander but he will be bought out and they will attempt to have insurance pick up ANYTHING of the buy out (and probably fail). |

I hope you're right, enough is enough with this fiasco. We have enough problems, that would be getting rid of one of the many. |

for a team that struggles to get to the cap floor. i cant imagine why theyd want to rid themselves of DPs contract from counting against the cap CEILING (which clearly is far from an issue) and have to pay another player to reach the floor-- wouldnt it make more sense to keep dp and have his contract help them reach the floor....? |

There were some comments that they should build an arena for the Islanders...this could have some legs for the Islanders... |

I don't think a few people commenting on a story is going to give the Islanders legs for an arena, it won't hurt but I think that might be the wrong terminology? |

Well, no mention of an arena in the plan seems to eliminate the area as a destination for this team, so in that its relevant to Islander fans. |
