I think a top D-line is the reason the Giants have won twice recently. I think the Heat will win many championships, just as the Lakers and Bulls did. I think, as I mentioned, that Shea Weber may give us the best chance at the cup. Absent that, Parise and Giroux and Hartnell look good to me. I think pitching always provides an advantage in baseball (Giants, Cardinals).
I think we have a good enough team to win now, but losing Pronger was a major blow. Really the Rangers and maybe Bruins were slightly ahead of us on an overall basis.
If you disagree with me, that is ok. It is ok to be wrong. But seriously, outside or Weber and Parise, what would you really do? - Daman
Personally I would say no it's not enough, but then again I also would prefer to stick at 20 or move back in hopes of getting a 2nd 1st rounder in 2013 which will likely be better overall talent pool. - ob18
You have a finger on prospects as well as anyone I know of. Is there a huge difference between a player you'd get at 10 versus at 20. I've heard that it's a deep draft for defenseman.

True. It still depends on the cost of moving up. Most of the teams I could see having interest in Bobrovsky are only a move up of a spot or two.
Tampa Bay at 10 might have interest, then after them I could see San Jose or Chicago possibly...Not worth it, because the guy you'll get at 16 or 17 isn't going to be leaps and bounds better than the guy at 20

D is a deep spot that after the top 4 (Ryan Murray, Mathew Dumba, Morgan Reilly, & Jacob Truba) probably no need to move up. You could probably say 5 if you add Cody Ceci (he I've seen in person)
Could stick at 20 and look for Matt Finn, Slater Koekkoek, Olli Määttä, or Hampus Lindholm
I don't know. If I'm TB, I can't make that deal. Especially when there could be better players available. - MJL
That's the rub. I can;t see the 20th pick and Bob being enough value for Tampa to make the deal.
And I think OB is right, if it's only a few slots, might as well stay at 20. If they can get in top ten, I'd look hard at it. They're going to get a very good prospect at 20.

And for the 2013 draft teams may not be so eager to offer up that pick. If they could move up to take a Cody Ceci or Brendan Gaunce but not sure I see a fit for a trade partner right now anyway..

As an example that I can think of. When they Flyers traded that first for Eminger. Carlson was available at what was it. 27th I think. Can the Flyers draft a player of that quality at 20? I know this is tough to answer, as it's a crapshoot. I'd really like to see the FLyers draft a D man. Hopefully one close to playing in the NHL.

Trouba and Ceci would be guys I could potentially see being on the board at ten who I'd be willing to move up for. Of course if Koekkoek or Maatta is there at 20, I'd be very content.

I like Matt Finn & Slater Koekkoek if they stay at 20. Both will or should go back to juniors. Koekkoek because he missed much of the year with a shoulder injury.
I'd suggest watching the Memorial Cup starting Friday you can get a look at Olli Määttä and Griffin Reinhart.

I agree, its tough because I dont believe the Flyers have the suitable assets to move up to draft one of the "Fab Five" as I've heard the top Dmen referred to this year.

I above suggested what I'd do. Moving up is only if the price is not high.

Yeah I like Reinhart, too...But I could see him going top 5, or top 7. And if the KHL talk around some of the Russians keeps up, he might jump into top 4

put it this way, the flyers didn't have to move up to draft giroux. heck bob clarke didn't even remember his name, but i'm pretty sure that pick worked ok
Emerick with a Patrick Kane reference to twist the knife a little more. It's not bad enough watching these two (frank)ing teams in the ECF. - PLindbergh31

Haven't heard him considered top 5 or 7. Top 12 sure.
One who won't likely head to the KHL is Alex Galchenyuk he maybe of Belarus decent but he was born in Wisconsin and played minor hockey in Chicago before going to the OHL.
