did u just say boring in reference to the rangers???
- MartysBetter88

rangers are exciting...they score 1-2 goals then have 5 players lay on top of each other in front of lundqvist...total excitement and a showcase of skill...LUNDQVIST FOR PRESIDENT!

I would be so embarressed if at game 3 our fans stop cheering for our own team just so they can chant "henrik" as the rangers come out of the tunnel

Are you serious with this post?

Boring because your team lost; bet it would have been awesome for you if the other team won though, right?

- MidnightMarauder

the point of that post was ... ITS WHAT RANGERS FANS HAVE BEEN BITTERLY DECLARING SINCE THE DEVILS WON THE CUP. "they're so borrrinng.. wahhh" Meanwhile, some of those Cup winning teams had the highest ranked offense. And NJ fans loved the physical defensive style and explosive offense. It was RANGERS fans like yourself crying about how 'boring' the Devils are. All it told us was how good we are, because "boring" apparently means shutdown D, shutdown G and talented forwards... and 4 Finals and 3 Cups.

i'm enjoying saying it about the Rangers just to spite you ignorant arrogant pathetic fools.

last i checked, Lundqvist has won 2 Cups and 2 Vezinas already. He's on pace to beat Roy's wins record. but hey, he beats the Devils so he's the best, hands down.

I just think were spending too much time holding on to the puck. need to move it quicker and release our shots quicker.
- NickA

Quick passes, stick to stick, move it around their defensive zone. It might not work immediately, but eventually they will start getting tired and get out of position. PARK ONE MAN in front of Hank, hold your ground, and place the other two wingers in the corner and up high, Dmen hold the point, and fire away, looking for those rebounds.

We saw them getting exhausted last night but unfortunately, we allowed them to stay in their lanes. That has to change, and I fully believe it will under PDB and the rest of the coaching staffs leadership. Edmonton in 05-06 used to use the same strategy, and the Canes were able to overcome it and win the cup.

enjoy it while you can....just remember chara broke callahans leg because he decided to step in front of him...and kovalchuk's shot is almost as bad...but when a ranger goes down itll be all the devils fault...the devils should just skate away from the puck and let the rangers do whatever they want

when the Ranger goes down it'll be an excuse. If they lose this series it will be because they were "tired". the biggest load of BS.

either way, the Devils won't get the credit they deserve. But i don't care. i really don't. i want my team to win. I want my boys to achieve their goals. I want our franchise to have increased revenue. I want our GM to accomplish what he's struggled to since 2 HOF dmen left the roster.

Imagine the Preds without Weber and Suter. .. bottom half team. The Devils at least managed to make the playoffs without Stevens/Nieds. Its about time they got to the 3rd round.

I thought the game changer was the save on Kovy's one timer.
That was a sweet save but get a guy in front of Henry and the puck goes in. Can't stop what you can't see.

All teams block shots in this day and age and all teams that have won, in recent history, have played a modified version of a defensive scheme.

Look out west, both Phoenix and LA play an identical style to the Rangers.

Just because the Rangers play their system, to the letter, doesn't make them a boring team to watch; just like when Jersey was a defensive powerhouse their fans must have loved the results.

Why would you care what Rangers fans had to say about those title winning Devils teams? Take my lead, because I could care less if the Rangers style of play acts like a sedative to you, as long as they take your team out and win it all, I'll be more than happy to watch this style from my team.

You need to let go of the insecurities dude. The Devils aren't villains just as the Rangers aren't superheros.

They are two good teams playing for the right to go to the Stanley Cup Finals. Stop sounding so bitter and enjoy it. Your team hasn't reached this level in a decade and this could be Brodeur's last run, smell the roses a little bit.

we never will get any credit...we beat a hungry panthers team by the skin of our teeth and we hear 'you should've beaten them in 5'...we manhandle one of the favored teams to win the cup who JUST beat the cup favorite and we hear 'bryz was weak...you guys had it easy'...if we beat the rangers its because theyre tired...geez we won 3 cups and were basically the 2nd best team in the nhl for years and STILL no respect...rangers win one game against us and its the end of the devils...theres a reason alot of devils fans are bitter

And what in the f**k were the defensemen doing on Girardi's goal?

They also seemed to breakdown and go into tard mode in the 3rd.
These types of breakdowns can't happen in this series. That's one of the Rangers strengths, capitalizing on mistakes.

Hey MM, I personally am calling for a truce on here between myself and all Rangers fans lol this series is exhausting enough, I want to come on here and talk about hockey, not to argue. Do we have a deal?

Anyone else like how Eddie Olczyk predicted a high scoring game?!

I'm starting to think Doc is becoming bad luck for us, we also lost the last game he called for us in the playoffs.

Would love to discuss the series in a friendly way; I got no beef with you and the others that carry themselves like you do.

Excellent. Then on that note, how is Stepan doing? He looked pretty hurt after blocking that shot last night. I think Kovy shot it? Didn't pay too much attention to his play afterwards which is why I ask.

Also, in terms of offensive zone scheming.

When Kovy or someone is about to receive the puck at the wing setting up for a one timer or a quick shot, it might not be a bad idea to let someone like Zid or another forward creep into the slot, allowing Kovy to give them a quick feed. Much like what Zajac did early in the game. Or, just fake the slot and let them roll by, then make a quick move into the slot and let it rip. If we have a forward battling in front of the net in either of these scenario's, it will make life very difficult for Hank.

Not only is their shot blocking killing us, but when they're clean blocks, it's giving the Rangers chances to counter on odd man rushes. That's literally the only part of the Rangers offense that scares me. It's nothing complicated. Just simple counters with speed. They rarely ever set anything up in our zone. Whether it be 5 on 5 or on the PP And I think it's because we simply win puck battles in the corner better than they do, which is awesome.

Stepan hung in there, he set the screen on the Girardi goal. Can't get in the way of a Kovalchuk bomb and skate away unharmed.
