You are wrong. His +/- took a beating at the end of the season only.

Pahlsson and Cody had the same +/- when the trade went down for Kassian (+10/9). If Codys' +/- was so terrible and completely reflective of his defensive game then why the hell was pahlsson such an upgrade?

Cody had to adjust after being traded with negative press and all kinds of pressure. After the trade went down...one by one the Sabres lost D. I think by the end of the season they had 2 or 3 of the top 4 D out. Defesively the Sabres were really bad the last few games.... funny how none of this has been considered. It seems the Canucks core get passes all the time for these same reasons every year in the playoffs...banged up D, goalie breakdowns and poor support. Typical.

It's pretty simple isnt it?

Seriously tho,,,do you think his +/- would have crashed dramaticly if he remained? It's too simple for people with their EA Sports logic to think that the results would have been the same. Cody alone would have spiralled into a "defensive nightmare" because it is destiny?

How he finished would have been in large part a reflection of the team around him where ever he finished his season. Crazy theory eh?

Weak stuff as usual Chompsey.

Anyone else curious to see how Jensen would do with Hansen this year?

Dude, come on man. I actually happen to have the center ice package and I'd flip through the Buffalo games to see how he was doing and I remember one shift he had it was absolutely atrocious. He lost his man twice in the defensive zone, couldn't chip the puck out and than lost his man a third time which lead to a goal. It wasn't the Sabres fault. He's so bad defensively. I dont know what the h*ll happened. When he was drafted, was he not condiered the best two way player in the draft???? I dunno. Maybe the speed of the CHL is so much slower that he was able to keep up? He looked even worse in a Sabres jersey defensively. It was probably the increased minutes.

Can Jensen play the third line? I think Schroeder will be there so I can't really see Jensen on the third. It's top 6 or junior for him.

It could have been that the East plays a different style and it'll take time for him to adjust. In time he'll be fine as an NHL player (top 6). If you watch hockey as closely as you claim to, you'll understand that Buffalo's defensive system (such as it is) is quite different from the ones Hodgson played in (Vancouver and Manitoba). So, in time he'll adjust and be fine.

BTW, when Hodgson was drafted he was not, "condiered (sic!) the best two way player in the draft". It was his 'hockey sense' that was considered top flight. Because of that alone, he should figure out how to improve defensively -- along with more experience.

Well you are probably off just as much with the over hyping the rest of the prospects just like you were with Cody then.

I watched games as well. He made rookie mistakes in his brand new top six role(duh) and the team crashing at the end of the season was shared by most of the players....not just him. He didnt look defensively horrible here. He will improve...just like you with your projections.... hopefully.

I just want to se him play alongside Hansen, not cause of his skill, or whatever, just cause it would bring joy to my danish heart
