Yeah. I just dont see Karlsson being anything I guess. 28 year old who see's very limited games. If he was that good you think he would play alittle more to give Kipper some games off.

Dont know much about Irving to be honest.

- stveshdy

They don't need him to be much, just a decent back up. If they have Kipper, he's going to play 65-70 games again, which leaves Bob in the same spot as he is now, if not worse off.

I think that there's several good potential landing spots for Bob: San Jose, Chicago, Columbus, Tampa Bay & Detroit could all probably take him on

What if a player is late for team meetings, and refuses to comply with requests from Management? Would that be considered not fulfilling his contract?
- PLindbergh31

I clearly talked about following team rules in my reply you quoted.

Sounds good to me. I just see no future for Bob as a Flyer. I think it would be wise for the Flyers to move him and get a cheaper backup.

Why has Weber?

There's been reports that Chicago is looking to shake things up, not specifically that Seabrook is available. I simply said to call Chicago and see what it'd take to pry him or Keith out.

- Jsaquella

Seabrook and Keith are excellent Cup proven defensemen already signed to cap friendly deals, on a team with abundant finances. Very different from the Preds situation. I'd be surprised if their looking to shake him out of there after he was their best defenseman last year. I guess you never know.

Apparently the Preds situation has improved, because Poile said they will be a cap team, not an internal budget team moving forward

If they can get value for him, I'm fine with it. Also if there's a bonus cushion, Bob will only cost $900 or so towards the cap

True. Whether Bob is here or not isnt going to change what this team needs to compete for a title. Need to get this d-core sured up. Add any other pieces needed as well.

There sure are a group of very vocal numbskulls in the area.

Yeah, the people who want to get rid of Giroux, for example.

Did you see the players poll they took on CSNPhilly.com? They asked for each player if they should stay or go. 120 people if I remember correctly said that Giroux should go. And 70 said that Couturier should go. Hysterical.

okay so instead of doing that, why don't we just release him and go somewhere he can possibly be successful?
- JoeRussomanno

Ok. So a guy's free to be a UFA at the end of any year in which he outperforms his contract, too, right?

they can't be Flyers fans. they have to be people who hate the team that you see in the comments section from time to time.....rangers, devils, etc fans. I find it hard to believe there could be 120 Flyers fans that dumb.

Yes but if you were out indefinitely, that wouldn't be up to your employer, that disability is only a year or two then you are on your own. Nobody's salary is 100% guaranteed. Unless you have some amazing insurance, that I never heard about. Otherwise you have to go to court and get lucky, but typically people who are disabled are screwed depending on the nature of their employment.
- JoeRussomanno

Work-related disability for me is until you can work or until I reach retirement age. Regular disability is at 70-80% (the 80% is if I personally pay into an additional policy) until I can work or reach retirement age. And disability is not taxed the same way income is, so you haven't really taken a 20-30% pay cut.

Theirs is only guaranteed for the life of their contract, which in the vast majority of cases is not for very long or for very deep into their lives. And there are nonwork-related injuries that can void even that.

Put this way, according to the CBA, a player who suffers a work related disability that stops him from playing, that is age 30 or over. Receives a $75,000 Disability Benefit. Peanuts

Some things that cant be measured in a system: heart, desire, will, character, determination, dedication, swagger just to name a few.

I just think the Devils wanted it more and played much better than the Flyers imo.
