According to a former bandmate of Mercury's, prior to Queen, he had developed part of the song as far back as the late 1960's.

When recorded, it was the most expensive single ever recorded. Reportedly Mercury, Brian May and Roger Taylor put in several 12 hour sessions to lay down the vocals

the problem with the Beatles is very few of their songs can translate to 2012. They just sound so dated nowadays.

That music puts me to sleep. I guess everyone has their own thing. The Beatles were never play around my house growing up. I've listen to some of their songs but I just cant get into it.
