I don't see it that way. If that's the outlook you want to have on, that's fine. He didn't force Howson and Nash to do anything. Nor did he go into seclusion in his Sea Isle house. He did the right thing to take some time to himself so as to not react emotionally and say something he didn't mean. That reaction was the mature way to handle it. Reports I saw said that he was fine in Columbus and was a good teammate. I don't think he sulked at all. This is just more media driven bs. And if he was unhappy at Columbus, I don't blame him one bit. He had every right to be.

Obviously it's fine. It's an opinion.

The way Carter behaved was, IMO, unprofessional. I have never heard of a NHL team trading for a guy in the summer, and having to fly out the GM, coach and a couple of players to get him to break his media silence. Even if you are upset, it's a simple matter to release a statement, answer the GM's phone call and make arrangements to fly out to the city where you'll be playing for the local press to ask a few questions.

Watching Carter play in Columbus, the four or five games I saw, he did not seem to be very engaged. Not really floating, but not really playing as hard as I usually saw him play in Philly. Or as hard as I saw him play when he got to LA.

I get it, he was upset. He had just signed an 11 year extension. He was happy here. Hopefully he's happy in LA. But my opinion of him changed because of how he handled getting traded to, and playing for Columbus.

One of 'em is gonna come out of this series and play for the Cup, and it's out of my hands. Just hoping to see a good series, decided by the teams, and see what happens in the Final.

The more I watch this game and series, the more I "want" the Devils to win for 2 reasons....

1. I hate the Rangers and how they whine and dive. Same with their coach.
2. The Ranges' fans are just indescribably obnoxious and cocky and arrogant.

This doesn't change my original wish of seeing a 7 game series where both teams just kill each other. I mean just kick the snot out of each other, even more so than the Pens/Flyers series

EDIT: HOLY (frank) BRODEUR

They are not playing a well-rested team, so its less apparent.

Nope. 1998 was the middle of the boring era.

And the goaltender makes every save.

This is the Rags 15th playoff game and Lundqvist has allowed one soft goal.

I can't believe it's been 18 years since that Devils/Rangers 7 game classic.

I respected him for taking the time to collect himself instead of reacting impulsively. Were so quick to judge somebody instead of thinking about the situation and the shock that it must have been. And if he was unhappy in Columbus, I don't blame him one bit. I'd have been unhappy also. Completely understandable. I try to put myself in the same situation, and think about how I would feel. If I blame anyone there, I blame the Agent. That's their job, to keep his client from looking bad. His Agent should have put out a press release with quotes from his client. It was the Summer. There was no urgency to fly out there. Howson, and Nash made a choice to do that. Carter explained very rationally why he reacted the way he did. It was what he needed to do for himself. Who am I to tell another how they should react emotionally. Carter did zero wrong in my opinion.
