I honestly wouldn't want the Flyers to do it. That would dismantle all the work Homer just did last summer.

I think the alternative plan may be to push hard to sign Zach Parise as a UFA and then trade from among other forwards to improve the blueline depth.

None of this is based on anything but my own conjecture. But we all know how the Flyers operate -- they think big, act bold, and let the chips fall where they may.

watching this game, i don't understand why fans wouldn't want a wider - like 6 ft- ice surface. it would go a long way towards neutralizing a lot of the ridiculous shot blocking that is sucking the life out of the game.

There is a distinct difference between this game and the previous 5. Its clear that the Rangers want it more. The extra day of rest has really helped them. And of course, one can always count on Semin+Backstrom+AO (lesser so compared to first 2 but still relative to expectation) to not want it as much when the pressure is most intense.

Its amazing he was competing with Crosby for best player in the world status 5 years ago. Same talent level maybe, but overall I would take a concussed Crosby over a fit AO in a pressure game

Has had excellent playoffs. I don't think he has much NHL offensive upside. Potential role player ala Andreas Nodl.
