Did you watch the series?
Marty wasn't sharp.
Bryz was for the most part, and at times, he was unbelievable.
Bryz kept them in games 2-5. - Giroux_Is_God
Yes I watched the games. Explain to me how a guy that gave up 11 goals in 135 shots wasn't sharp.
Bryz was at times unbelievable...and at other times...mediocre. To say that he outplayed Broduer is ridiculous....even if he was good at times. |

Brodeur wasn't exactly well tested through the series. He spent more time puckhandling than he did goaltending. |

How so? Bryzgalov had to face more shots and greater scoring chances throughout the series. - stveshdy
and gave up more goals?
Facing more shots and greater chances does not make you a better goalie. If you make the saves then sure. |

If he needs surgery, would it not be selfish to postpone that surgery till after the tourney and possibly risk not being ready for the season.... - RooNosHockey
I'd say it's the opposite -- it's being selfless to a fault when he has a contract negotiation coming up on top of it all. I will never blame a player who wants to play for his country once his NHL obligations are fulfilled. |

The puckhandling is an asset that shouldn't be ignored.
My point wasn't that Bryz was bad...just that he wasn't better than Broduer. |

My point was more that Brodeur didn't really have a chance to outplay Bryzgalov. The Devils won on the relentless efforts of their skaters. Bryzgalov was one of the few reasons the Flyers were even competitive through this series. I wouldn't take the comment as a slight to Marty. |

So Bryzgalov was not at any time better than Brodeur? And Brodeur wasn't much less busy? Because you said none of that was true a moment ago. |

More times than not the team that produces more shots and more scoring chances is going to score more goals. The Flyers struggled to get the puck out of their own end and at times went almost a period before even getting a shot on goal. Brodeur made some nice saves but the opportunities and better scoring chances were by the Devils. Cant dismiss that fact. |

It's not criticizing him that bothers most, it's suggesting he belongs in the KHL. Exaggerate much? |

What game was Bryz far superior to Marty in which he was busier?
The only game the Flyers won they outshot the Devils. |

"at times better" and "far superior" are vastly different. Not sure what posts your are reading. |

lol, you mad? He said at times he was far better. He doesn't say in the majority of the games he dominated Brodeur. The point is he's not the reason they lost. |

Bryz was standing on his head consistently in this series. He was a monster. He was easily the Flyers' best and most consistent player.
Just because he gave up goals doesn't mean he was bad or he wasn't "better" than Brodeur.
The last time Marty was consistently tested was game 1. In games 2-5 there were times when the Flyers would go 15+ minutes without a shot. And what was Bryz doing during those 15 minutes? Keeping the Flyers in it with tremendous play.
Bryz was AT LEAST "equal, and if not better than Brodeur". |

How dare you say that someone with a 3.46 GAA and a 0.887 save percentage in the playoffs was anything but amazing |

However, that production may have taken its toll as reports out of Canada say Giroux may need surgery on one or both of his wrists this off-season.
crap. i knew it. |
