That's cool, but I do. Don't like it when players crap on the fans that give them the great lifestyle they have. Sometimes I think they forget how lucky they are.
- ukeman

Give them the great lifestyle they have? So the player busting his ass to get good enough to play in the NHL as a Pro Hockey player has nothing to do with it? They're just handed that lifestyle? Where do I sign up to be given that great lifestyle. Lucky? No, not lucky. They earned that lifestyle. Just like anybody else earns what they got.

I don't feel like talking about the Bryz nonsense. Anyone with an ounce of intelligence knows that he wasn't ripping the fans, and that our beat writers are a bunch of worthless hooligans.

Anyways, to rehash an old trade rumor, do you guys think the Nash rumors will pickup again? Furthermore, what with JVR would it take to acquire him?

Just trying to generate some decent hockey discussion.

didn't say all that. Just because I criticize his actions doesn't mean I want him gone. I just think he's as much to blame as the "evil" fans and media. Why would his old teammates say what they did if there wasn't some truth to it?
- ukeman

Just so you know, the organization scouted him pretty well--including his personality, they knew what they were getting into, and more importantly, they got feedback from one of his teammates--Chris Pronger.

The spotlight will be shining on him for a while. The press and the number of vocal dissatisfied fans are all part of the big contract package when you sign on to play goal here and don't win.

Expectations were high here to put the goaltending issue to bed. If Breeze thought he was the answer, he should've been at least somewhat prepared to expect some negativity, justly or unjustly, if he didn't produce the desired result.

It's going to be a process. It started already with the no comment after games mandate from the team. Then it became more evident afterwards when Breeze's interviews became more bland.

He's going to have to find a comfortable middle ground soon or this will swallow him whole. The sooner he does, the quicker his play will turn around, unless he has the constitution like a Steve Carlton or Mike Schmidt which he doesn't seem to have yet.

Vocal dissatisfied fans are cultivated, groomed, and whipped into a frenzy daily by WIP, The Fanatic 97.5, and their brothers-in-controversy online and at the local papers. I blame the sheeple.

I have no idea what his injury was, it would help to know that.

I think he played OK before the injury. Would have liked to see him play a few more games, it was a very short window.

I thought for a little while there before his injury he showed no doubt still 2nd pairing ability. He could be a steal for one year at around $3. As long as his injury wouldn't be deemed debilitating for next year I'd love to have him. Big RH shot, hes 35 YOA wouldn't quite call him a dinosaur yet.

I have no problem signing Carle at under $5 mil per. Reupping Kubina for a year if hes healthy and then look for the big fish next summer when Kimmo comes off.

I just heard Bryz killed like 7 kittens this morning and then swiftly kicked an elderly woman in her crotch'l area.

What a guy. No wonder he sucks at goalie.. he is too busy mutilating kittens and kicking grandmothers in the woohoo.

They never used him on the PP.
I thought a righty shot would be great, but the coaches know what he can and can't do.

When he played with a snarl and used his size I thought he was good.

He also is a vet and can use his experience.

Downside is he seems slow, and the injury question mark.

I dont get the Kubina love. I said it before we got him that I didnt think he would make an impact.. and I still dont think he made an impact. His "big RH shot" is a total farce. The guy has 7 goals over the past 2 seasons, and has only registered 3 PP goals since 2008-2009.

Not thanks...

Agreed. And he's not a PP producer. Kubina had zero PP points this past Season. And 5 the year before.

I dont know how they used him in Tampa, but when he was playing with the Flyers before his injury they used him heavy on the PK. Thats where they needed him. Flyers D was solid through the month of March. Yeah Bryz was playing real well. But Kubina and Grossman had an impact when they were healthy.

The most I would be willing to offer Kubina is a free ride to the airport. No thanks.

Using him heavy on the PK is an overstatement. He played some there. And if Meszaros isn't hurt, he probably would of seen even less.

Yeah, timonen, Lilja, and Kubina on the same defense?

Too much mileage on those legs, IMO. If we are going to sign more than just Carle or his replacement, I would like it to be a young veteran guy that can step in now and stick around for a few years. Otherwise I'd rather keep going with the rookies, before resigning Kubina.
