5 ---2016-17 season is his last year.

Eh, its ok. Maybe the CBA will have a clause for players are injured like Pronger is with all the concerns about concussions.

However, that production may have taken its toll as reports out of Canada say Giroux may need surgery on one or both of his wrists this off-season.

I find it amazing the pain tolerance hockey players have. Mine is pretty good, but good lord.

I wouldn't have a problem if they decided to add something into the CBA for players who have career ending injuries (ex: still get paid their money but the cap hit is removed).

No it's PCS. Hasn't improved, apparently.

We think he got a concussion and then played with it for a few games. Since then, he's allegedly been doing awfully....

- Giroux_Is_God

That sucks then.

Something should be changed in the cba for cases like that.

I think anything can happen but if Nash is traded I think its to SJ (just an opinion). Read some articles about how they want to blow up some of their team--SJ.

I could see a team like LA or Toronto come out of nowhere for that.

Hello all. I had been banned. By my wife. Once the PO are over, I have to give her some attention, since I am so vital to the teams success(her words with eyes rolled) . I think the season was a successful one. I am equally excited about the future. I love how Bryz played better each round. He got passed the first round for the first time. Now work on the second next year. I'm not one for keeping Carle, however, if he is really cheap then go for it. I think our D will be sweet next year if you can add a stud. Hopefully Mezz stays healthy.

Grossmann-Coburn
Kimmo-Stud
Carle-Mezz

Could be some good stuff. Add a dman and maybe another sniping winger. This team really doesn't need much.

Harts-G-V
Simmer-Danny-Sniper
JVR-Schenner-Talbot
Rinaldo-Cooter-Wellwood

Future looks good. As long as Bryz puts in the work to be better, which I think he will, good teams only tinker to become great teams. Even if we have to trade JVR to get something for D, Homer will makes us much better.

- Deasr1

Both D-"stud" and O-Sniper sounds expensive...

Offensive... Where did Read go? He put a few goal in the net.

Giroux has 1 line center locked. Briere isn't as good on the wing, so he's a center. I would like to see them move Cooter up into the top 3 lines, to play against the top opposing lines - put him with some good wingers. Instead of a sniper, I'd like to see them pick up an experienced 4th line center - good size, plays defensively, can check, good with face offs (a Bett's type). Which means moving Schenn to wing - he's young, he should be able to make the switch - He could play with Simmond-Briere.

I'd like to see Sestito get some more ice time next year on the fourth line. I thought he added some grit, that was lacking versus NJ (especially with Rinaldo not in the line up).

Bill I thought I was perhaps just being a homer with my dislike for the Rangers. Knowing that you are probably the most objectionable person to put words into print, now I feel vindicated for my dislike of that team and the as you put it—Haughtiness— of a fanbase whose team hasn't done jack squat in over a decade. Thank you for the work you do!

I wish I had never watched 24/7 thing.

After seeing guys at home with their families like Girardi and Callahan I have trouble hating them.

I won't root for them either, but I really like some of their players.

For a fourth line guy I think they really missed his energy against the Devils.

Not playing him more was a mistake imho.

Like a lot of their players (not Prust). And the fans here on HB for the most part. But in general I just despise NYR and NYY and NYM fans. H.A.T.E. (But not two of my best friends, who are NYR fans and take me to Flyers games in MSG.)

from the Bryz interview:
Did a wish ever come up to tell everything where to go? To ask for a trade, slam the door?

I am not one of those people. I will not give in when facing difficulties. I have eight more years to work under my contract with Philadelphia. If I am criticized, then I will endure it. You can't tie up people's tongues. It is their right to let the emotions go.

Hard not to like the guy.

I agree with everyone that said he could have had a better year.
But he is here for 8 more years, and we have to hope he can work and improve to make his game better and more consistent.

Transition years are always tough. Hopefully next season looks like March of this year, from Oct through a long playoff run.

- Marc D

I think he will. He really was on point in March but he was also good at times earlier in the year. Also his play suffered with the foot injury but when it got better his play looked better against NJ. So yea I think by March he had it figured out. Also I think he'll be determined to work hard this offseason.

Hot damn, I did forget about him. How insanely deep is this team!! I don't see Jagr back. I think a new back up goalie, I think JVR and Bob could be packaged up for that stud Dman.

Whether the Leafs missed the playoffs or not is irrelevant. But to say that Bryzgalov wasnt on par or slightly better than Brodeur at times in this series is being biased imo. Brodeur faced about half the "quality scoring chances" that Bryzgalov did. I dont ever recall the Devils going almost 15+ mins without even registering a shot on goal (Flyers I believe did that twice). The attack time in the Flyers end was much higher than in the Devils end. The Devils dominated the play in this series and when that happens you tend to score more goals.
- stveshdy

People should, which they won't because it doesn't serve their purpose, take into account how Bryz was good on the second and third chances. Such chances were a rarity for Broduer to face throughout. The Flyers never tried to exploit his diminished ability to recover.
