I don't know if you've noticed, but playing defense isn't an individual effort. You don't assign one guy on the team to play defense and let everybody else run wild.

Not impatient...I just think Schenn has been hyped in this city....and he's not nearly as good as ppl make him out to be.

In 4yrs....he's been complete poop in 2....and has been 'decent' with signs of 'potential' in the other 2...while playing on one of the worst defensive teams in the league (so not hard to make yourself look good)

Juri Tlusty, John Mitchell, Justin Pogge, Carlo Coliacovo (sp), Robbie Earl....just to name a few...

Okay Kenny Ryan. Time has already decided who is better. Schenn, at a younger age, was a top four defender. Franson wasn't. That's a fact you should accept.

Komi also had a healthy Markov covering up for him when he put himself out of position trying to make the big hit or when he decided it was a great idea to throw a nice fat waffle straight up the middle.

They were a good match, Markov was good at covering Komi when he went out of position to make a big hit. Sometimes it's a question of chemistry between 2 players. Even during his last year with the Habs, Markov was injured for a while, Komi wasn't the same player (post Lucic)

Young D's take time to adjust, Phaneuf and Komi are past that stage, they are at their prime.

The way he plays in toronto.... we would need bobby Orr to make him look good, I think he needs a coach to calm him down, and a system that takes into account that our team has a goalie too!
