irritated? id say so. you took it the wrong way.

hall > kadri

players who play to win, and grind it out, 100% every night, get injured more often than someone (kaberle) who doesnt go in the dirty places.

u just took it to heart dude, and robin joined in, which was odd, hes supposed to be my western fishing buddy

At times, Franson struggled. ALL leafs defenders struggled.

There were other reasons he was benched and Schenn was not (mostly). Schenn is the golden child, Franson is a newcomer.

- GoneFullRetard

Schenn is hardly the golden child anymore. Burke didn't draft him, he's been in plenty of trade rumors and Napoleon threw him under the bus plenty of times. He has been benched before. Franson, being the new guy, had the advantage. He just did nothing with it.

I would rather see Schenn gone than Franson. Franson at least showed signs of potential to be an impact player. Schenn shows potential to be able to shut down the other team's 3rd line, sometimes. Frankly, he was the worst Leafs Dman this year. With Phaneuf and Komi on the team that is saying something.

This is extremely disappointing coming from you. Franson did not show signs of being an "impact" player. He was not that good. Period. Schenn, in his fourth season, has shown he can be an impact player He's led the league in hits. Twice. He's been a top four defender. He's played the hard minutes. If you saw Franson making an "impact" it was against the other teams 3rd line. I think you got them confused.

Schenn was not worse than Komisarek. That's just insanity. I don't know what you put in your coffee today but stop taking it.

I would not give up on either because they are young.

Oh, and don't start with the 200 hits. It is not like Schenn was out there hitting like Stevens. Everyone in the NHL knows that stat is a complete joke. Schenn got credited with a hit whenever he was in the same area code as an opposing player.

That's bogus. If Schenn got 200 hits just because the stat man was giving them to him, why didn't everybody else get 200 hits too? Schenn hits everybody that moves. You see it game in and game out. He earned 200 hits because that's how he plays. He's physical. He's intimidating. That's his job. If there was anything remotely defensive about the team, he would fit in a lot better. Fact is, Napoleon forced them to play a run and gun game. That's not to Schenn's advantage. That's the only reason why he looked as bad as he did. Schenn would be paired up with Gardiner and Gardiner would take off. He'd lose the puck and it would be Schenn left to fend for himself.

Lots of other things also happened or didn't happen when Schenn was in the same area code as an opposing player... 1) brutal giveaways happened. 2) Confusion on Schenn's face happened. 3) an attempt at a hit that missed and took him out of the play happened 4) Goals against happened.... what almost never happened was any contact in front of the Leafs net, or any hit that even slowed down, nevermind hurt an opposing player.

Franson was soft also, way too soft... but he doesn't carry around the nickname the human eraser.

Bad system, bad coaching. You can't expect Schenn to thrive in a run and gun game. That's what Napoleon forced them to play and it's the cause of most of the problems Schenn had this year.
