I know he is NOT a centreman. But watching him play this season I think he could be a good option for it. Or even swap him and Lupul. - markmark
Carlyle is working on a new system:
Steckel will take 100% of faceoffs and skate to the bench and have 3 wingers on at all times. |

Kessel, Lupul, Gardiner and Grabovski? - weirdoh
Yes, now for the mystery question, who is the 5th player? It was on an earlier blog, *theme from jeopardy is now playing* |

Agreed. He was playing pretty damn well until he got his bell rung. |

Oh hell no. Half a season doesn't get you a passing grade.
At best, you give him an incomplete because he got hurt.
27 points and -17. Hell, even Kaberle beat him. |

Well now, if I knew how to read I would noticed it was Gardiner + 4 others. Not 4 combined. I'll throw in...Bozak? |

Follow up: apparently (according to the innerweb) he played centre in college and high school.
I've read a quote from him, though, where he specifically says he doesn't want to play it anymore.
I'd dig it up for you, but I'm Audi 5000.
Later, skaters. |

Why the (frank) would parise want to come to Toronto this team is a mess... We need a goalie a 1 line centre and a power forward ..... Parise is none of those things - The_Vark
Let me clarify, the "hell freezing over" and "stars aligning" phrases are to imply the unlikelyhood of it happening. |

It really (frank)ed his season up. He had 6 pts since coming back...21 pts in 34 games before hand. Quite the drop off.

Poor Mike, I understood your grading system. I figured the grades were in comparison to the others on the team, not the league. A Gardiner and Kessel's, B's for those who did ok, C's for underachivers and D's for the Lebduds etc. But what evs.
I think Franson has top 4 upside one day as he has the size and shot, i would love to hang on to him for that reason but i agree he should be moved. Let em hang out with Schenn for a bit to get a physical game going.

I might be very tough on the grades but consistency & if the player exceeded my expectations was the key element that I judged it on. |

If hell freezes over and the stars align and what not and we land Parise.
Id be cool with:
Lupul-Parise-Kessel
Kuli-Grabo-Mac
Frattin-Bozak-Kadri
Brown-Steckel-Armstrong/Connolly
Get rid of Lombardi via Marlies. (Im probably missing one or two others arent I?) - markmark
Ashton plays over Kadri, Armstrong and connolly

I'd probably give Phaneuf a C. So my list would also have 6 passing grades. Lupul an A+, Kessel and A, Gardiner an A+ for exceeding expectations, and Grabovski a B, for meeting expectations. |

This 2nd round really wasn't flashy was it? Maybe this Rangers/Caps series will add a little excitement. Thought some of the teams that lost out would have put up a better fight...what a poop show from Stl and Philly...cripes, even Preds...some were calling them favs. |

Probably matches your complexion that you get from the radiation in the Habs threads. |
