If Kesler really cared about his team's success he would stop being so selfish. - boonerbuck
Does that apply to Cody Hodgson as well? |

Somehow I don't see Sarich's rights as an asset. I'm sure he'll be available on July 1st. - micah555
he will be availale to 30 teams .Having first crack the week before they could negotioate. |

I don't think there's going to be a bidding war for Sarich. I'd rather look at other options like whichever d-man could be acquired in the Luongo trade. Still think Schenn will reach his potential away from Wilson & that his skillset fits what we need here. |

Lots of drama on these boards.....guess who will be all over Keslers jock when he returns to form - all of thoses wagon jumpers dissing him now after declaring him our Captain instead of Hank 2 years ago.....so sad..... - chompsey
Welcome to Vancouver.
Most of us like the guy as a player .Most of us don't like his selfishness and childish antics and diving. |

I agree about Schenn. I know once players hit UFA their price goes through the roof ,I am thinking out loud about buying UFAs .We could use Schults and Peranteau and still need a top D a top 6 forward and a 4 th line.Lots of needs. |

Agreed. The Luongo trade should really target a quality young defender, even if we have to throw in a draft pick. Of those teams rumored to be interested in Lu:
TO - Schenn works (possible)
TB - Hedman really works (highly unlikely)
NJ - Larsson really works (highly unlikely), maybe Volchenkov (possible)
FLR - Gudbranson (as if), Garrison? (sign and trade as he's a pending UFA) |

I really hope that Gillis does not bring back Sammy Pahlsson. He's way past his prime and can only really contribute in his own zone. The Canucks need to get rid of AV and place more emphasis on skill.
My proposed lineup
Sedin-Sedin-Radulov
? - Kesler - Booth
Higgins - ? - Hansen
? - Lapierre - ?
I'd trade Burrows and try to acquire a young pass first LW with good speed for the second line. |

There is no way I would want Radulov on this team. If the Canucks kicked Cody to the curb because of he didn't have a 'team first' attitude then Radulov doesn't have a chance. |

Have you responded to Cloutier's most recent blog? I don't think Clouts likes the Flames much. |

I'm pretty sure he won't be highly sought after. A slow moving 34-year old defensive Dman coming off a $3.6m deal? I'd guess he'll be waiting for at least few days before being signed. Beyond that, he's not worth the rights to Raymond. Maybe a 7th rounder or future considerations or a few broken sticks. |

His stock is pretty low right now because of the character issues, but I also think because of this you could get an elite offensive talent for a "bargin".
I understand that it would be a high-risk move, but there is also a pretty high reward if it works out. I'd offer him a one year contract and the opportunity to play with the Sedins. I think his style would fit well with them and he would easily be a threat to score 40 goals. Then he could go get his massive long-term contract from some other poor team.
There are worse things than having an extremely motivated, talented Russian sniper on a one year contract. |

I love to crack on Kesler...but this was one of the most un(frank)ing funny things I have read on HB in a long time. Congrats on reserecting some Sam Wooisms from the grave. |

Pahlsson had 6 points in 19 games with the Canucks. That works out to about 26 points a year. He also scored one of our 8 goals against LA. He ins't a bad option for the bottom 6 at a reasonable price.
Burrows isn't going anywhere. |

Not sure why people think a sniper is what the Sedins need. They get most of their goals off of the cycle. The 3rd guy on their line generally putts the puck in. He's not a renown grinder. |

There was a certain element of tragedy in it though. If you like to laugh at people, this post was pretty hilarious. |
