Oh no, one of those homers who can't even see what happened right in front of his eyes. The flyers were outchanced, outhit, outdisciplined, outshot (in every game I believe), outdefended, and overall outplayed for at least 45 of the 60 minutes in every game. To me, that's being dominated.

I know I was quitting watching games halfway through because I knew they were over.

oh no Tommy, you need to show up from time to time to get the joke.

Well, the coach is responsible for holding the players accountable. If they aren't doing the things asked of them then the coach needs to hold them accountable.

When you see the same issue games 2-5 you have to think the coach is failing at making adjustments.

Please know, I am not blaming only the coaches or specific players, they lost as a team and everyone, including the coaches, needed to be better.

Everyone is held accountable. The bottom line is the Devils did a great job scouting (watching game film) and preparing for the Flyers. They executed their game plan to perfection.

Bill, thank you for another wonderful season of superb Flyers coverage. The insight, the analysis, the colorful stories, the knowledge and the frankness is a refreshing change from the other local outlets.

It's all good man. We are celebrating a Philly loss--- I mean drowning our sorrows.

I bet it was. I haven't slept yet and it's 6 AM. Been a long night myself.

As a Leafs fan, its nice to throw it back in a few peoples faces that I know from the amount of crap I take all season long

IMO, its worse to have teams like Van/Flyers and not succeed two years in a row than having a team built like the Leafs and miss the playoffs 7 years in a row!

The Flyers rushed the puck almost every possession in their own end. The pressure got in their heads and forced them to make dumb mistakes. Part of that is also contributed to the fact that the defense spend a lot of time in their own end. I'm sure Lavi tried to make adjustments but the players didn't execute either.
- stveshdy

The passes were harried, they had zero flow, and the lost just about every single physical battle on the boards.. recipe for disaster.

How would he hold them accountable? The entire team was completely outplayed. Scratch everybody and bring up the Phantoms?

I still think if Pronger is deemed never able to play again, and the new CBA gives buy-out option again, they buy his contract out and he retires.....it would be the best option for both sides and they can both move forward.

That being said...it is a good summer to work towards either Suter and/or Weber....get a trade together for their rights, like we do every few summers with Nashville.

- Pyzik

It's all on the CBA, he will need to go on LTIR to use the cap space. To buy him out, there will still be a cap hit. To allow him to retire and remove his cap hit would be a change to the CBA and this is what is needed. Not just to the Flyers but for the NHL.

He should have stopped chewing his (frank)ing gum so loud. It was totally distracting the team.

Yup. I couldn't believe some of the passes that were being made. An example like when Grossmann just tossed a backhand passes across to his partner that wasnt even there. Panic is what I would use for this team in their own end during this series.

No i mean if the new CBA gives the 1 time buy out option with no penalty, like the last one where the Flyers bought out LeClair and Amonte for no cap hit.

yes that would be beneficial. I would rather just have a release clause in the CBA like the MLB and NFL.

Say.. just for ( ) postseason conversation.. that it does happen. They get 1.. and only 1.. buy-out. Who would you buy out?

The way I read it...was moreso that NJ took you guys very seriously, and you guys didnt take them seriously enough. They seemingly played as if it was the finals for most games, and you guys kinda....half assed it a lot of the time, from what I saw.

Certainly didnt help that Giroux was missing....boy would he have been helpful last night to create some energy....

IDK.

All I know is the same problems that were evident in game 2 were still the same problems in game 5.

If they were held accountable, great! It didn't change the problems the players were being held accountable for.

If was clear to you that Lava was asking for the players to adjust and they didn't then please point it out to me. I am not claiming to know it all.

Roo, MJL, GGunky (love the let's go Flyers), JSaq, just5, 2real, r97, tangent, Hexy, eayost,Plind, stv, jak, Russ...to name a few...if i miss anyone, my apologies.

it's been an enjoyable year. Looking back when the season started we all just hoped they would make the playoffs. The team has a bright future. It's been real to come on here and talk hockey. I appreciate the banter.

I think defeating the Penguins in what was basically a series played as pond hockey was fool's gold. A team with a tight checking system will give the Flyers as currently constituted fits. Had the Flyers played the Rags it would have been ugly. More of the same from what we saw in the regular season.

Have to look to the future. Homer will tinker this roster and the Flyers will be ready for another run yet again. We feel short this year but I like that the young guys got some experience.
