It's all his defense. You can plug any goalie in their and the Caps would win.

Edit: This is a joke.

We know...there is a grain of truth there, but Holtby is playing solid, which is exactly what you want.

Although he clearly should have have stopped that one goal.

Ugh. Still, what is there, like 500 games left in the season? The Phillies will get em...

Not sure if this had been said but here it is anyway. Koivu signed for 3 mil and had 38 points this year, Jagr had 54 points and made 3.3 mil. If Jagr wants market price for his numbers, unfortunately he'll have to walk, but man do i hope he stays for the same he made this year or a lil less. Possibly loosing Jagr seems just like loosing Gagne all over again. I can't believe he grew on me so much in one year.

Koivu made 2.5$M the previous two years. How he got a raise is beyond me.

Listen to these numbers. 0-3 and 14.17 ERA from the bullpen. Nice job there as they cost the team three games.

Please explain to me how the Caps are able to move the puck out of their own end with ease against NY. I don't understand why the Flyers struggle to do it. I hope the Caps win Game 7 so I can see what they do against the Devils pressure.

Not good, man, not good at all...

Phillies in the basement. Still, 5 games back in May can be overcome.

Yeah, pay a marginally better version of Bobrovsky significantly more money...that couldn't possibly blow up in the Flyers' faces, could it?
- Jsaquella

leight, but fixed.

(just messing around, i think bryz will rebound next season. he's far from the team's biggest worry this offseason)

Look on the bright side...

At least we don't have to worry about the Flyers' bullpen...

To be fair, I'm not sure anybody knows how good (or not) Bob can be.

If you keep Briere, he's forcing Couturier or Schenn to the wing or 4th line. There's a logjam in the middle & somebody's odd man out.

If you dump Bryzgalov, you have no goalie outside of Bob. Then you're in the same position you were last summer, forced to either overpay for a vet or roll the dice on a kid.

- Jsaquella

I actually like Schenn on the wing. I think he did well there, and we need more wingers who play tough and can finish. And I liked his hitting/physical play during the playoffs. I'd be fine with him moving to the wing and leaving Briere at center with Giroux and Couturier. It also gives us some flexibility for dealing with the inevitable injuries.

He needs to play. The physical tools are there, and the kid seems sharp mentally, but he has those lulls...

That's what will likely happen, since there's not likely to be an amnesty buyout process.

I don't know if Homer is willing to find out either. Have a feeling Bob may be traded in a deal that lands a defenseman.

It's possible, but if Vancouver's moving Luongo and Boston is moving Thomas, Bob's going to be a cheap trade chip. LA might also be looking to move Bernier

I agree about Bob being traded. His salary cap hit is high for a back-up, can get a veteran back-up (Boosh type) for just about half salary. Let Hovinen start with the Phantoms and start every night. Looking forward to see the big guy in net.

He was poor defensively and has a propensity to turn the puck over. I just don't think a team with so many poor defensive forwards is a contender. Briere, JVR, Simmonds, Schenn, Jagr (because of age) are bad. Hartnell is average. Giroux is good but erratic. Read, Couts, Talbot, Voracek are good. I think Rinaldo is good too, though few talk about it.

We need a line like the Hendricks/Brouwer line or the Stepan/Callahan line. Guys who are biggish, will forecheck the crap out of teams, will block a ton of shots, are solid defensively. No need for more than say 45-50 goals from this crew.

I don't know how much value Bob has around the league but he is a young goalie with a lot of promise. It's a roll of the dice.

I agree. I was never really an advocate of trading Bob, but since Carle is gonna go, I don't have a problem with sending Bob and a 2nd or a 3rd somewhere for a good defensman....

That backup job can be given to......wait for it..........

Leighton.

Yeah I said it

Like it or not, he wasn't bad at all in the AHL this year. Hell, we could even sign someone like Emery.

Just throwin out ideas

AO is finally being the absolute beast he can be. And I dunno what I can say about this kid Holtby. He has ice water in his veins. He has outplayed Lundqvuist.

If Jagr isn't resigned, Chris Kelly from Boston is someone I hope the Flyers take a run at to sign. His salary demands shouldn't be too bad, and he offers a gritty two-way game. He could be a fine addition to the checking line and fill in on scoring lines if needed.
