It's either another Russian goaltender or another Emery...

Picking your poison there it seems.

- _Zippy_

I'd take the healthy Emery as a backup. He was all class here.

need to go a notch or 2 better than Matt. time to build around a guy if we really want to be able to break thru the kind of pressure that NJ or NYR can throw at us. with pronger likely out of the picture and kimmo on the wane, I think it's an imperative.
- isaiah520

If they can land one, sure. But at the least they need a guy that can replace him.

I'm all for getting a stud.

Ummm... What does another Emery mean? Subban is a legit prospect, the fact he is black has nothing to do with anything.

Holmgren has work to do on the blueline. There isn't anyone on the roster right now that resembles a top pairing guy. Unfortunately Kimmo is breaking down, and Pronger is done. Flyers have some solid guys in Coburn, Mesz, and Grossmann, but they need a stud to anchor the d-core.

He's not on to something...HE'S ON SOMETHING!

Martin's good in a system. When he's not in a system, well...

- Jsaquella

He's good at moving the puck up in the ice, the physicality department not so much, but for the way the Flyers play, he'd seem like he would fit well.

How much do you think Wideman will command and would he be a good fit here?
- JoeRussomanno

No idea. I think it'd be dependent on what Suter gets. He might even have more value than Carle to some, because he's got a good RH shot

Wideman was hated among the Bruins fanbase, I didn't watch him closely enough to see if it was justified, but he has played well this year. Outside of Suter, I think Wideman will get the second biggest deal of any UFA d-man.

Because the Flyers lost a hockey game and it's been 37 years, this was me last night

I just couldn't take the loss easy and I don't know, go to sleep and wake up the next morning?

He really struggled in the Pens system, especially in the playoffs. There's not a ton of strcture in the Flyers attack at times. That could be an issue.

The Devils played well to end the season, I think the Flyers beating the Penguins, coupled with the Devils struggling bigtime with the Panthers, has the results of this series shocking people. I'm not shocked the Flyers lost the series, I'm pretty surprised they basically were non competitive. Over confidence played a factor, as did lack of adjustments, and poor execution. Those factors will doom any team.
- PLindbergh31

I didn't place any value on the Devils having to go to a 7th game against the Panthers. The mistake that is made is devaluing teams. The Panthers were a solid team and a playoff team. History shows us that any team in the playoffs can beat another. Boston had to win 3 game 7's last year including against Montreal. I also disagree that they were non competitive. I feel that is an exaggeration.

If there is an amnesty buyout, buyout Bryz, sign Suter, an possibly Harding.

I dont know WTF to do. I want Suter but will the cap allow it?? I also want Vaselevski or Subban...

Disagree. Both Carle and Coburn can both be solid top pair players as a compliment to a top # 1 defenseman.

The Flyers attack was real heavy in the Penguins series. I don't think you can accurately judge anyone's play from that series anyways. Martin was good when he played in NJ, but there was barely any structure for both teams in the Flyers/Pens series.

who do we replace Bryzgalov with? plz don't give me some over the hill goalie either or expect those rookies to come in and be lights out.

If anything Bryzgalov showed we can win with him this year, just gotta play better in front of him. there's other contracts with bigger cap hits on this team, I really don;t want to get into that right now though.
