Yeah, because that Luongo contract is really working out great.
- Predaceous

Whats wrong with it? 5.3 million cap hit.... how much is Rinne's cap hit? like 7 million? Is he 2 million better than Lu? Nope

The only people who bag on Lu's contract are those who don't understand it.... there a few teams that would be happy to take Lu... Gillis will find someone to take either Lu or Schneider... depending on the returns and go from there. Its a cap circumventing contract... there a good amount of them out there... do you honestly think Lu will play until he is 43.. getting paid 1 million dollars? Not a chance.

I just love how there are already Nashville fans turning sour on Suter because there is a good chance he is leaving for a better team... much like Hamhuis.... when Weber was going thru his little contract talks.. most fans were saying Suter was better than Weber... now everyone is calling Suter overrated?... CLASSIC

You sound so stupid its not even funny....
Have you even watched hockey prior to the last couple years?

And Radulov and Kostitsyn brothers ruined your team.... great pick ups!

- kneughter

So let me get this straight. You blast a Coyotes fan for being stupid and then state that Radulov and the Kostitsyn brothers ruined his team? I wasn't aware they had been traded to Phoenix.

Thanks for the heads up!

Most of those ragging on Luongo (and his contract) are your fellow Canuck fans.

I was making a point to Nashville fans.... and Coyotes "fans" are more like the fans of the league... so he will take the harrassment for whichever team blog he is currently in.

Not his contract... they may want him gone because they feel he has over-stayed his welcome... and want to give a new (possibly better) goalie the reigns. Which I'm totally for... assuming the return can be decent.

Thanks for providing the clip. Pretty much what I would expect Suter to say. It was honest and with class. It does leave the door open for us.

Personally, I don't think his comments have ever been intentionally disrespectful or malicious towards the Preds and/or being here, but I do think he realizes that there is a potential windfall out there for him and he will weigh everything. He's a smart man.

I guess that's the entire Canucks fanbase since you all turned on him and made him the scapegoat for your playoff losses.

Not many teams want to pay a goalie $6.714M a year for the next 6 years. You're not going to get much in a trade for him and it's mainly because of that contract that no one 'understands.'

I see you're also getting a ton of playoff production for that $6M+ you're paying the Sedins.

Cap hit doesn't mean as much to this team as salary. Rinne's barely being paid more than Lu, and yes, he's worth more than Lu. He's worth every cent the Preds are about to pay him as he's constantly the MVP of this team. Is Lu your MVP?

Well, the contract part of any complaints from Canuck fans deals with their laments that it will be a difficult one to move, which may not necessarily turn out to be the case, assuming he is traded.

Cap hit is what matters to most owners/GM... especially with Canadian market teams who sell out every night and are making good money. I'd say at least 20 out of the 30 teams have deep deep pockets and will spend to the cap no matter what. How many teams in the league are still paying players who haven't played for them in years... Yashin... Avery... there are a number of players and teams.

Because they care about winning... and because the success of the franchise they can afford to spend that extra money if they need to. Don't use Nashville and Phoenix as an example because they don't spend much money and would not swallow that kind of money.

Not many canucks fans are complaining about the contract... just Lu as a goalie.. and thats because they are stupid. Real fans know Lu's value and realise he has been outstanding for this franchise... and has not been the problem. I would only be okay with him leaving because I feel he has been given a good opportunity and perhaps its time to let Schneider take control. But I will be happy with either goalie next year. Both elite.

Point per game in the playoffs the last 3 years isn't producing? Get your head of your ass man... I doubt you even watch hockey....

Exactly... even if Schneider is traded this year... doesn't mean Lu COULDN't be moved... if you can get the stars and the moon for Schneider.. you do it.

I'd take a huge return for Schneider... than a tiny one for Lu any day.

Advice to kneughter: those are true words.

Also, contrary to what you may think, you are not God's gift to hockey and even if you were, no one really cares.

I realize that you are without a doubt a Legend in Your Own Mind, but moronic comments along the lines of "I doubt you even watch hockey" were worn out years ago plus they are incredibly trite. Your often hackneyed comments make you look worse than you probably are.

We can talk and argue hockey here or not. It's your choice.

Outside of the obvious (that the Preds lost a series that most of us felt deep down inside they would win) is the fact that the end was so abrupt. At least it's that way to me.

Moving on, I'm looking forward to the rest of the SC playoffs - should be some good hockey. Also very much looking forward to seeing what the Preds do in the off season. I'm intrigued by what will be new and expectations of same.

As always, Go Preds!

Is Jordan Staal a potential 1st line center and what would it take to get him to Nashville?

A boat load. No way it happens unless Poile gives away the farm. I honestly wouldn't even waste energy on thinking about it.
