Some are blaming Ward, but it's misguided -- he had a really solid game, drew two penalties (one which led to what should have been the GWG). The bigger culprit in the loss is the Caps inability to extend the lead from 2-1 when they had a breakaway, a 2 on 1 and a 3 on 1. You have to be able to finish one of those.

BTW, sorry Preds fans. I really thought this was the year Nashville would get to the Conference Finals (at least). Crazy playoff season, very unpredictable.

What ticks me off the most about Joel's penalty, it is 2 years too late!!! I wish he had taken Patrick Kane's head off like the other night. Maybe the Hawks wouldn't have a cup right now.

This is probably one of the first series we lost that wasn't due largely to a lack of "beef". I think that anyone who works on putting the puck in the net is spending their time prudently this off-season.

WC finals should be good. I have no idea what to predict for game outcomes or play, much less the series. LA feels the stronger team to me but then I realize that Phoenix represents unknowns and sometimes hidden strengths.

The notion that someone might offer Suter $10m caught me totally off guard. That's a ridiculous sum for #20. I don't see any team offering that much but Grimson said it so it is possible. Stupider things happen every day.

Maybe that explains Suter's constant hedging here - he already knows that there are over-the-top offers out there. (Clandestine offers of course...yeah, right.)

You sound so stupid its not even funny.... you realize Van doesn't have 1 contract in the top 25 salaries in the league... or a cap hit in the top 40 in the league. Nashville even has 1 in the top 10 (Weber)

You are going to be hard pressed to find a "bad" contract on the Canucks. (possibly malhotra.. but unfortunate accident)

I assume you are referring to us getting Dan Hamhuis... who is probably one of the most consistent defenseman in the league... lead our team in +/-... had 37 points.. which would have probably made your top 6 (forwards)... he was only a handful of points behind Suter and Weber with much less ice time. Hamhuis is a warrior.. and was easily the Canucks best defenseman during the regular season and the playoffs.

Have you even watched hockey prior to the last couple years?
