Nashville was the better team and favorite heading into this series. They should have won this.

The Preds were already down 2-0 in the series and dodged a bullet in game 3, winning 2-0. The suspension should have ended there. One and done, and the everybody moves on! But no, the whole distraction was needlessly continued for a second AND THIRD game. By the time the Preds were down 3-1 heading back to Phoenix, everybody in the Preds' dressingroom was already deflatted and defeated.

Again, Nashville should have won this series, but Phoenix benefitted from a perfect shitstorm that Nashville itself created through selfishness and mismanagement. Anyone who thinks the Preds are a better team WITHOUT Radulov and Kostitsyn is out to (frank)in' lunch!

Better luck next season...

You are not going to fire a coach who took you to the 2nd round for 2 consectitive years for the 1st time in franchise history. This team is 13 years old, it takes time to build depth. It was important for BT to coach 1000 games and win 500 games, it brings stability for the organization that needed it the most. I think BT will coach 2 more years then move on to greener pastures. BT window is closing but if he leaves it will be on his terms!

Shutting down a PP in the playoffs is a 100 times easier than the regular season. You are playing the same time for a series and can prepare more and adjust if need be. If you face an opponet once or twice you will not spend a lot of time on the opposing team PP.

I never said fire Trotz, however, one may look at changes in his staff. Lambert has been good, hordi.. I question his capability.

Hmm 11 other teams seemed to do better than the Predators on the Power play. I would say Nashville we have a problem... speaking of the power play.

Here is NSH stats for the playoffs, some very surprising numbers..

Exactly. Radulov makes Nashville's #1 PP unit better, while Kostitsyn makes the #2 PP unit better. Considering that 4 of the 5 games in the series where 1 goal games, just think what ONLY 1 PP goal in game 4 might have done to turn this series around for Nashville!

For this fact alone, nevermind the added distraction, the suspension was one game too long!

First I want to stomp the crap out of that bug as your avatar b/c it keeps moving.

Second I agree 100% with you. Just one power play goal at a key moment could have made all the difference..

What was the score of game 4 again?... "Just one power play goal at a key moment could have made all the difference" E-X-A-C-T-L-Y!!!

Did you by chance watch the Rangers/Capitals game yesterday to see what "just one power play goal at a key moment" has done to that series? Instead of the Rangers being down 3-2 and heading back to Washington...

He's taking line dancing lessons at the Wildhorse Saloon. I think he like it in Tennessee.

I have a feeling he won't be back as a Sabre. Somebody is going to throw some big money at him.

This one hurts deeper than all other playoff losses in the past! We had a legitimate chance to make it to the Cup finals for the first time in team history, even much more than in 2007 playoffs. Oh the siren song of VODKA!!! GO PREDS!!!

As for Phoenix vs. LA I don't care. Extremely disapointed in last nights game.
I loved the way we played leaving everything on the ice in trying to move on.
Where was that in this whole series !!!!! You are playing for the frickin Stanley Cup !!!!

Well, I'm not saying there's nothing to be done to improve the roster as-is, but 15 of 27 on the active roster are FAs this summer. So a lot of the building this off-season probably means tough decisions about who to retain and who to let walk. Especially if they're not likely to make a splash to get a Parise/Semin etc.

I can understand why you would think that... but what difference did they make last night in game five? None.

The scratching of those two in game three and four had very little to do with the outcome of the series.

The distractions their actions drove is another story.

- pmccann

Your agreeing with management because thats what they did, but bottom line is you needed offence and didn't have it in Game 4, which was a MUST WIN. going down 3-1 is very tough to come back from....momentum killer. Nobody is talking about game 5, with a 3-1 lead, PHX likely wasn't losing

Your LA is showing D.

I will use another "D" word... destiny... I see that quality in Phoenix... I also see some of it in LA but I do believe that the 'Yotes are slight favorites, discipline will make the difference.

- pmccann

Oh Paul, it's not my LA showing, it's my common sense. It tends to peak out from time to time. I just think LA has been more impressive in their two series against better teams than Phoenix was in theirs.

I also think LA will expose Smith if he leaves the net as wide open as he did against the Preds. LA will bury the chances we missed.

- A challenge to whoever is writing the Nashville eulogy on Puck Daddy…try to avoid the usual insults and prove you have a little more knowledge… Hee Haw references, empty building references, etc. Let’s get creative on this one and try avoiding the easy ones.
- pmccann

I didn't read it, but apparently you didn't not get your wish. JJ from Kansas, a known troll at OtF wrote the eulogy, and I hear it's the same recycled redneck jokes. Very predictable.

It's too bad no one has a real gifted imagination for those things. I read one, the Red Wings eulogy, and found it totally offensive and not the least bit funny. After that I decided that I wouldn't read any others because they would likely follow suit. Seems I'm correct in my assumption.

People are going to cheer how they're going to cheer and if there's anything I've learned about the South, it's that they don't appreciate being told how to act by people from states who have always counted all of their citizens as 5/5ths of a person when it comes time for the census.

Down here in Smashville we fly on PLANES. but i get your drift.

Man oh Man, i drank the mainstream media koolaid. Overlooked all the Preds warts and saw a large silver bowl in their future. Bummer.

I dont think Rads proved he is worth a monster contract. If he comes back, I think you will see a onesy for 2.5 to 3.5 with Poile saying Prove it Rads and I will pay you.

I think we have seen the last of Suter. He wants to be Batman iso Robin.

Kings have the snipers to make Yotes pay but the Yotes have the sticks in the lanes to keep the snipers from getting the pucks. If the previous trend continues, the WCF games will all go to OT.

I am sure everyone in Washington is blaming Joel today. Wonder if they have thought where they would be if he hadnt scored in OT of game 7 of the first round??????? Todays hero is tomorrow's goat.
Going to be an interesting summer.

- im4preds

Some are blaming Ward, but it's misguided -- he had a really solid game, drew two penalties (one which led to what should have been the GWG). The bigger culprit in the loss is the Caps inability to extend the lead from 2-1 when they had a breakaway, a 2 on 1 and a 3 on 1. You have to be able to finish one of those.

BTW, sorry Preds fans. I really thought this was the year Nashville would get to the Conference Finals (at least). Crazy playoff season, very unpredictable.

They allowed some really classless comments on the Red Wings obit as well. Some Blues fans wrote that one, and the other Blues fans who read it were embarrassed by it.
