I generally do. Especially when you act like a martyr.

How dare that big meanie point out something I wrote that's so wrong I won't even defend it, but rather will push the other half of my point so strongly people will forget half of what I posted was dumb.

Evrybody picks on me...waaaahhhh

Their defense is a big question mark going forward. Timonen's game isnt what it used to be. With Pronger out, I dont think we have a #1 D-man any more. Lose Timonen, and maybe Carle.... and you dont even have a proper #2 after next year. Meaning you likely going to have to trade some of that Core to get a Number 1 or 2.
- RooNosHockey

There are other avenues to get a player other then trading for one. I don't think the defense is a big question mark. They have a solid nucleus of Coburn, Meszaros, and Grossmann going forward. And if they wind up trading a forward for a good defenseman, what's the problem with that? They have the depth to do it. Regardless, stating that this team's best window is right now, and that is has to win now, is ridiculous.

And tell me, who is the stalwart#1 defenseman over on the Devils squad that is in the process of whipping the Flyers ass?

140 characters also limits the amount of stupid that can be spilled at one time.

People still find a way to spill stupid into twitter though. They just shorten the words now and still fill the tweet up with it.

It's funny I look at the coyotes, I don't see any real elite players so to speak. Sure Doan, Yandle, and Whitney are top notch but are they really that high up there?

What I do see with that group, is team that plays as a team. That statement is not a cliche at all. You don't have to have all the best players, just a group that fights for each other, plays for each other and wins for each other. Talent is needed and I think they have enough of it. They knocked off to superior talented teams imo and what they are doing, should be the blueprint for how to win. Hopefully the Flyers can get back to that and pull this thing out.

there wasn't any firearms involved and it was a lot more peaceful than that scene but yea someone was on someone else's lawn and the homeowner wasn't exactly thrilled.

If I'm the Coach, I'm leaning heavily on that top line. I think it's been a little silly that Briere has been playing on the second PP unit, while Simmonds has struggled and the PP as a whole hasn't been great in this second round. We're juggling lines but I've seen very little change to the Power Play to get it going.

Also as crazy as this may sound, I would bring back Kubina and consider 7 Dmen. Rinaldo isn't going to help this team much. He simply has a bull's eye on his back. If Meszaros can play, he would be playing in my mind. In my opinion Lilja and Gustafsson have had a rough series as the second pair. I would show some desperation on the side of the coaching staff. If Kubina and Meszaros can go, I would change the look of the D in a heart beat. I'd even consider putting Coburn and Timonen back together.

Whatever it takes to get some jump.

- roenick97

I agree with you for the most part. I do think Rinaldo will give the team some jump though. They play well with him in the line-up for whatever reason.

Joe I totally agree with you. I will say this though the Coyotes have never been to this point as a franchise. The team is obviously good but the way they have run the team hasnt been very successful (playoffs). I do agree with you though. This may be the time where the Coyotes have turned the corner as a franchise and they dont really have any superstars (maybe Yandle and Doan).

be honest, when they got Pronger, did you see that coming a year or two away? I think most people were pretty surprised by that one.
- JoeRussomanno

No I didn't see that coming, but look what we had to give up to get him. Our best defensive prospect, a solid young 2nd line winger, and 2 first round picks... It worked out for us, but on todays team a similiar deal for a top D-man like pronger might cost you JVR, one of either Read, Couts or Schenn, and a first... That could really hurt your core...

I think you could survive trading JVR, and maybe Schenn for Weber. I wouldn't give up Couturier. In fact if the package involves Schenn I want another roster guy coming back. Then again, I'm no trade guru so what the heck. All I'm saying is we have a Gm that basically turned a banged up aging forsberg into Timmonen iirc.

I don't know man, Simmonds has been borderline absent. Wondering what surgery he'll need at this point. To be so effective all year in the dirty areas winning battles and getting to the front he has disappeared. At least Jags can use age and mileage as his excuse....How about Simmer...?
- Ferrarimn7

I was told Jagr is hurt. its a secret tho shhhhhhh

No stalwart #1, ( I know this was rhetorical)...
but it makes a great point.

Defense in playoff hockey, it is almost more important to have depth and a competent 3rd pair on D then a stud number one guy.

Flyers fans know this all too well.

This series is another great example.
No offense to Lilja and Gusty, they are what they are ( a green rookie and a number seven depth guy). That pairing has been very vulnerable to the Devils forecheck.

On the other side, the Devils D from 1-6 has been mostly effective at moving the puck out of their zone.

Coburn, Meszaros, and Grossman are a good foundation. I just think thier best chance to win is in the next couple of years. That's all.

I mean I'm just falling in love with them. I know people are gonna talk smack about them losing Bryz and that's why they got better. That's all horse poop but this team really took it to another level and Mike Smith has been great for them. Would really not want to see Phoenix win a cup before the Flyers do again but the way they are built and playing would be great. Not just for hockey would it be great but for the sporting world. Kinda reminds me of Dallas in the NBA finals last year.

To clarify, the Flyers traded Nashville's 1st (acquired in the Forsberg trade) back for the expiring contracts of Timo & Hartsy.

Okay I couldn't remember and didn't feel like researching but you guys get my point, we imo have the best GM in hockey, I'm not worried. I firmly believe a cup is in our not too distant future.

Boedker and OEL have been playing at a very high level. Big coming out party for those two. They have had tremendous role players so far with CHipchura, Pyatt, Brule, etc all contributing. Team concept like you said.

Plus the goaltending they've gotten from Smith will take you a long way in the post season. And very very good depth on defense from 1-7. Klesla is suspended (who has been absolutely great so far for them) and Schlemko steps in and doesn't miss a beat.

If the Flyers get eliminated I would have no idea who to root for... Do you root for your Atlantic Division rivals... NJ or NYR... I have a lot of hate for both franchises... Do you root for LA and have it said... look what Philly traded away, LA won with... Or do you root for Phoenix who will say all they needed to do was get rid of Bryz to win.... Oh man, the Flyers better pull this out, or I might not watch the rest of the year....

The Coyotes are playing their best hockey at the right time. That series against LA is going to be a good one.
