Jagr with an emotional press conference. I wouldn't mind seeing him come back.

- FlyerGuy

Needs to be cheaper, and someone else will pay him if he just wants the cash.

I was really impressed by Lou, assuming he is the mastermind. Yet again. I cannot believe how Kovie has brought into their system. Unbelievable to see him blocking shots and backchecking. We never managed to do that with Briere.
- PT21

o you remember how bad he was last year? a certifiable bust. he turned it around, would you say?.......sorry people, theres no hope for bryz

Love what he did for the team this year. And the leadership he provided. I was never a Jagr fan, but I appreciated him this year. But if what Bill says is true about his salary needs. Then I have to pass.

the devils have been a competitive but ultimately disappointing team going on 9 years now - and i'm not necessarily impressed by their personnel decisions or even 12 shootout wins that helped them finish where they did. i am impressed by their compete level in this series, very impressed. will that translate for another 2 rounds? perhaps, but i like the compete levels and the goaltending of all the other remaining teams as much or more to reasonably think they will not get to the promised land.

Maybe we shouldn't care who wins. Every year being reduced to root against a team really serves no purpose I guess.
- PLindbergh31

i always watch to the end, not matter how far the flyers get. i'll watch the conference finals for sure...but if we have an LA/ny/njd final, i might not sure that even i can torture myself to that degree.

It stings. It tastes bad. Theory lack of energy this series was extremely frustrating.

But guess what?

This team is remarkable. They're a resilient bunch of guys that have fun doing what they do. They were never to be counted out. This team is easily my favorite team that I've seen play (I'm 18). With that being said, how unbelievable is this team's accomplishment? They traded away their core for youth- an entire new identity. It was a REBUILDING year. Who would have thought, let alone expected, this team to compete the way they did? Not enough can be said about the rookie contributions, and about the heart they played with every single night. The depth was a true surprise, and everyone did theory jobs, from the coaches to the players.

With every season and every playoff comes ups and downs and, specifically for the Flyers, growing pains, but all in all this season was an incredible one, and leaps in a direction that should excite every Flyer fan (and terrify others).

Here's to a team that I (and the rest of us) am incredibly proud of: the 2011-12 Philadelphia Flyers

I don't think Jagr will be back for the things Bill has stated. He was destroyed along the walls all series long and just looked like an old player imo. That money can be used elsewhere.

You can't hope to score four goals a game in the playoffs and that's what it would have taken to win this series.

which is a (frank)ing disgrace.

Yeah, $3.3m (is that right?) is a nice chunka cap.

I really don't see it happening. He is not a first/second line player anymore and his game is not suited for a 3rd line role. And even then 1.5m is the max I would play.

I don't know what other Flyers fans are feeling, but I am rooting for Richards to hoist the cup with the Kings. I could give a poop about Jeff Carter, but that kid (Richie) is a straight up hockey player and deserves whatever good comes to him. I feel like they have a great chance to win, and if any Flyers fan would root for the Devils or Rags over the Kings, they need to lay off the sour grapes.

This team will be back next year, they have a bright future, and I want to thank them for a run no one thought was possible after the moves in the summer. Homer needs to address the defense and bottom 6 and get us ready for a real cup run next year. I will never give up on the Flyers, and although I have never lived through a cup run, the sports fan in me lives and breaths for the day it will come again.

what disappoints me most is that the freaking Panthers took the Devils to a double OT game 7 ... and we were lucky to win one freaking game.

I said we should have gotten Kovalchuk in his FA year. Oh well he only came back to bite us in the ass in the playoffs. 10+ more years of that.

Statistics don't always tell the story, but the goaltending was technically worse than last years playoffs as hard as that is to believe. Alot of that is attributed to the lack of any semblance of defense, but once again their were numerous soft goals allowed. The game winning goal tonight, was as ridiculous a goal as anyone has ever seen.

But do the Devils spend as much as we do before the Kovy contract? And what about the 9 years before the last 9? I was primarily commenting on how they got a cherry picking type prototypical high flying Russian forward buy into their system that much. Maybe Hunter is doing the same thing with Semin and Ovie but not to that extent yet.

i heard it happen live on the radio, and bundy was almost at a loss for words. you could tell it took every ounce of restraint he could muster.
