Lets hope Jagr actually does something tonight, In my opinion, by far the most useless of all the Flyers in this series.
- hexy2827

I don't know man, Simmonds has been borderline absent. Wondering what surgery he'll need at this point. To be so effective all year in the dirty areas winning battles and getting to the front he has disappeared. At least Jags can use age and mileage as his excuse....How about Simmer...?

When it comes down to it, talent is just talent. Heart, determination, comittment, and urgency will always trump talent without that behind it. The Flyers are playing hard. But regular Season hard. They need to ramp it up and find that extra gear, and match the Devils in those areas.

agree, win one and go back to Jersey and get G back and go from there.

I think the key to tonights game and the series is to score a lot quickly. Get Broduer pulled early. Send a message that we are still a high powered team. Give the guys confidence again. A 3-2 squeeker isn't going to help moral much.... but a 6-4 game could...
- RooNosHockey

So you think scoring a bunch of goals quickly could be a key to the game? Interesting. I'm not interested in any moral victories. Only interested in wins on the scoreboard. I'll take a 3-2 squeaker and move on to game 6. And it will do a lot for the team. Mainly avoiding elimination.

Gus has been very shaky. the Flyers have gotten pinned down in their own zone a lot when he's been on the ice.

At this point it's all out...they lose they go home. No reason to give a half ass game.

- phi1671

Gus needs to do what everyone else needs to do. Make the simple play and get it out. Stop looking for a tricky breakout pass. Stop trying to do the hard thing. Even if they have to ice it. Get it out and worry about the line change after the faceoff.

How is pointing out an obviously incorrect statement pick. pick. picking?

The Penguins, had they sustained their efforts in the first period for 60 minutes, don't get down 3-0. Fleury's spotty goaltending played a role, but the Pens didn't keep their intensity levels up and it was a major factor.

When the Pens did keep their intensity for 60 minutes, they won 10-3. You said something that was totally incorrect and got called on it. Develop a thicker skin.

- Jsaquella

Still doesnt change the point, so your picking out one part of a post to "correct" when it really doesnt matter. The point was still valid. Your just pointing out something to discredit. You should run for politics... lol. BTW my feelings weren't hurt, so the whole thicker skin is whatever.

I always expected good things from this team. I heard others say this is like a rebuild year, and we should be happy just to make the playoffs. Said that we shouldnt go after anyone at the TDL. I said the complete opposite. This team needs to win now. Pronger is done, and Timonen is 1 year away, with no possible #1's to fill their shoes... This team is built to win now, or next year. That is the best window for them. Soon they will have to start trading some of thier offense for defenders.
- RooNosHockey

I couldn't disagree more that this team is built to win now, and this is the best window for them. That's ridiculous. This team has the core to be a top team for a long time. Every team makes deals and drafts players to tweak the lineup. This isn't a team that has to win now. Many of it's players are no where near their peak.

right now it's the Devils series to lose. The pressure is on them. The Flyers win tonight, still the pressure is on them. One game at a time...
you never know what can happen.

- phi1671

Devils need one more game, the Flyers three so imo i think all the pressure is on Philly. Even if the Devs lose tonight they know they're going back home for a chance to close out the series.
If the series happens to go to game 7 then yes all the pressure will be on NJ.

The "one part" of the post I tried to "correct" was 50% of your statement.

When you make a two part comment, and half of it is mind numbingly wrong, somebody pointing that out isn't being picky.

Also, when you make a statement that is that far off from being correct, you don't need anyone to discredit you.

The more you let a team hang around the more confidence they gain in a series. The pressure will be on NJ in Game 6 if the Flyers win tonight. NJ doesnt want to come back to Philly again for a Game 7.

We have MANY rookies putting in major contributions. Their expected "rookie wall" is what? Feb? These guys played through it. We have a good number of our defenseman locked up and the only forwards of note off contract are Jake and Jags. Jake is an RFA and they'll sign him. After seeing a full year of Jagr +playoffs to date? I appreciate fully what he brings, but he'd need to sign on for a discount for me to take him on next year.

We're built for the next 5 years. I'd still like to catch a few more games this year.

I think that what he means is that the pressure to close it out is on NJ. If the Flyers lose, they lose. Being down 3-1 now, they're expected to lose so it's not a big deal if they do.

However, if the Devils lose, perhaps a little seed of doubt gets planted.

if the flyers want to win tonight it will take one simple thing shoot the puck then shoot the puck then shoot it again stop trying the fancy pass and the neat little plays just shoot we are scoring 2 goals on 20-25 shots just imagine what would happen if we got 35-40 shots

I don't even know why I bothered, to be honest. Most days this place is like going back to an old favorite bar, except now it's been taken over by a bunch of violent drunks and morons who spill beer on your clothes and hit your car door in the parking lot.

That's why I usually don't come here on game nights. A lot of the good posters don't post as often or at all. Better conversations on twitter.
