If they play a great game and lose, it doesn't matter. They need to get a win, any kind of win.
- Jsaquella

You are correct sir. A win is a win. Get this win and put the pressure on the Devils in Game 6.

Nothing of tonight's outcome had been decided yet. It's not easy, but have some faith!
- BulliesPhan87

I wasn't saying they are going to lose -- I'm saying if they lose, it's on the bad call of suspending Giroux.

Ha ha? But as you know, they've done the whiteout since their birth in honor of the Winnipeg mother ship.
- bodiva88

Well every team does whiteouts nowadays, even though the away team wears white. If you dont think about it too much it makes sense.

Pittsburgh blew leads in three straight games, two of them multi-goal leads, how is that not an inability to sustain effort?
- Jsaquella

Pick. Pick. Pick. You are starting to sound like someone else I know... Pitt's problem wasn't scoring, so the big 10 spot didn't help them like it would help the Flyers confidence... What might have helped Pitt would have been a shutout by MAF. Regardsless of your picking my point remiains the same... A big score will do a lot to improve this teams confidence. A lot more then a 2-1 or 3-2 win would.

Not necessarily. What if they lose 8-6? Losing Giroux is a big loss, but it can also be a rallying point.

You should have a good feeling cause the guys in O&B are going to win tonight.

Flyers need to take tonight's game as one shift, one period, one game. You can't win 3 games in one night, and if they try to, they will be starting their summer tonight around 10PM.

They need to simplify. Stop trying to force what isn't there. Execution of their own system. Stop the mistakes that lead to wasting energy running around their own end.

- Jsaquella

Actually, I disagree. I would either take it two shifts at a time or simply skip certain shifts altogether.

I would also attack from the beginning when the puck drops and hopefully this will allow us to win 3 games in one night.

Lets hope Jagr actually does something tonight, In my opinion, by far the most useless of all the Flyers in this series.

How is pointing out an obviously incorrect statement pick. pick. picking?

The Penguins, had they sustained their efforts in the first period for 60 minutes, don't get down 3-0. Fleury's spotty goaltending played a role, but the Pens didn't keep their intensity levels up and it was a major factor.

When the Pens did keep their intensity for 60 minutes, they won 10-3. You said something that was totally incorrect and got called on it. Develop a thicker skin.

if they need to have a guy suspended to be a rallying cry for this team...it's sad. there is enough veteran leadership to right this ship.

the way i see it, score the first goal again...i don't care...just tighten up on defense.

If they lose, it will be on them. The Flyers got themselves into this mess, and Giroux got himself into trouble.

But this will all be moot.

I don;t think they need a rallying cry, but if you have something to use, why not do so?

Gus has been very shaky. the Flyers have gotten pinned down in their own zone a lot when he's been on the ice.

At this point it's all out...they lose they go home. No reason to give a half ass game.

Like when he stole game 5? A series is just that, a series. One game might swing momentum a bit, but it's not going to swing it entirely. Just win.

if that was the case they should've sent Rinaldo in game 2 or 3 to run Marty and have him suspended.

right now it's the Devils series to lose. The pressure is on them. The Flyers win tonight, still the pressure is on them. One game at a time...

I'm just saying that they can't change the fact that they won't have Giroux. If nothing else, try to find a positive in that, rally around that and go out like men and win the (frank)ing game

agreed. they have no hatred for the devils right now -- no scrums or nasty play after whistles. have to credit NJ though, they are playing very well and very disciplined. It's so sad knowing that the flyers are more talented and should win this series, but since the NHL ripped the heart out of our team yesterday, I think it's over.
- flyersfan51

When it comes down to it, talent is just talent. Heart, determination, comittment, and urgency will always trump talent without that behind it. The Flyers are playing hard. But regular Season hard. They need to ramp it up and find that extra gear, and match the Devils in those areas.

Just saying that a blowout win isn't going to carry over. It'll look good on NHL Tonight, but won't have any affect on the game Thursday.
- jd342

I disagree. I think if you score a bunch of goals the players will stop "pressing" so much, and get back to playing their game. Confidence goes a long way. I dont think if they win big tonight they will stop trying... they know they are in elimination games... a big win isn't going to make them play sloppy, but a big win could allow them to get comfortable in thier game...
