I was hoping Meszaros may be ready, but I guess that was wishful thinking

Let him heal for the training camp. Or the ECF/SCF, whichever comes first

well, it was fun while it lasted. Still blown away by Giroux suspension.....This is like a totally different team than when they played Pittsburgh. NJ is just outworking and wants it more. At least the flyers have an excuse if they lose tonight.

Gawd, remember those 8:0 elimination losses

Time to avenge ECF 2000. Give the debbies some of their own medicine.

it's all about effort, with G out, we shall see.

For so many years I can remember us getting absolutely destroyed in elimination games. A lot by Buffalo. I really hope the team keeps it competitive until the end even if they don't win. Losing Roo I think is the fatal blow but I hope that I am wrong.

Right now, they need to conserve all energy for the game. What sucks is that if you turn around the outcome of the up-for-grabs Game 3, this is a 2-2 series and tonight's outlook would be a whole lot better even without Giroux. But the more deserving team has won all four games to date.
- bmeltzer

that's the problem -- the flyers are just waiting for something bad to happen. It's like they are playing to lose, not playing to win. if that makes any sense

I am still really feeling that there has been an emotional letdown after the Pens series. We just have not matched their compete level at all and unfortunately, I think we're done especially without Roo.

The crazy part is had we won in OT in game 3, or even kept that 2-0 lead in game 4 instead of completely folding, this could be 2-2 with us having home ice.

Have faith. I think the Flyers win tonight on home ice and then the pressure is on NJ in Game 6.

agreed. they have no hatred for the devils right now -- no scrums or nasty play after whistles. have to credit NJ though, they are playing very well and very disciplined. It's so sad knowing that the flyers are more talented and should win this series, but since the NHL ripped the heart out of our team yesterday, I think it's over.

I'm expecting to see a completely different team out on the ice tonight. The Flyers have nothing to lose at this point. Give it your best shot and with the crowd behind them I think they will.

I was sure they'd win game 4.....unfortunately, I can't see them playing the way they should and that's the most frustrating part. They aren't playing the way they should and after 4 games, that's troubling. The good part is, they played crappy and could reasonably be tied 2-2......that's how they should look at it - they just aren't playing the way they are capable of. and that blows.

I think losing Roo may be a blessing in disguise. It will force them to simplify their game. Roo was/is one of the biggest culprits so far in this series. They surely can not afford to lose him for any longer as he is their best player.

But I see the team rallying around this. They all KNOW what they have to do.

New Jersey doesn't play that way or engage in that kind of stuff. They ALWAYS skate away. This is why all of their games seem to be over so fast. They just don't get goaded in to anything.

The Flyers need to continually make the simple play out of their zone, even if it means they get a change and regroup. After a while they will get their chances. But they just need to make smart decisions and execute the system.

Wasn't so much the NHL as it was the infusion of the "3rd jersey" that made the change. Road teams didn't want to have to carry 2 sets of jerseys on trips in case home team wanted to show off 3rd jersey, so make road whites.

Logistics!

The team. If they make smart decisions and start executing the right way they will gain confidence with every single shift.

I freaking hope so -- by no means do I want them to lose, I want them to come back and obviously win the next 3 -- and yes, I'll be watching and yelling and screaming like always, just my confidence is at a 2 out of 10 -- game 4 my confidence was a 9.
