I wonder how he will hold up tonight.
- stveshdy

He will be rusty, no doubt.
To play your first game back in an elimination game is a very tough spot.

When your top player who is considered one of the best players in the League, is 23. And you have a player like Couturier who is already a very good player, who is 19. And hasn't come close to the top of his potential. Same thing for Schenn who is 20. And JVR and Voracek, who are what 23, and still developing into players. Not to mention a young guy in Simmonds who took a lot of steps forward who is also in his early 20's. I can see why their best chance is in the next couple of years. Hey if they don't win tonight , I'd break it up and start over.

The #Devils are 6-3 in Game 5s historically when leading 3-1 in a best-of-seven; 9-0 in series.

The defense will need a player (or two).
Homer will get something done this summer, I am confident.

I have been fantasizing about getting John Carlson. Big right handed shot that gets through most times, and can skate and defend against other team's top players. And only 22 years old.

It is a pipe dream at this point, but I'd package Jvr and a first round pick and another player even for a guy like him.

I wish they would put Kubina in there too. His big body in the down low scrums would be huge IMO. And with both Kubina and Meszaros hopefully you can move Timonen back to the Left side.
- RooNosHockey

If Kubina was healthy enough to play and be effective, he would be in there.

...........and only two teams had ever come back from being down 3-0 in a series.

There's a first time for everything.

The Flyers could have had Carlson. But they traded a first round pick for Steve Eminger. I miss the old days and the Eminger discussions.

I like Carlson, but that would be a drastic overpayment for him.

A lot of us do...

Of all the Emingers out there, Steve was the Emingest.

Id rather they not let the Devils score first then spend the rest of the game trying to dipsy doodle over the blue line or hit on the big home run pass.

Seems like a legit top pairing guy with a booming right handed shot.
They aren't cheap.

If the Flyers get eliminated I would have no idea who to root for... Do you root for your Atlantic Division rivals... NJ or NYR... I have a lot of hate for both franchises... Do you root for LA and have it said... look what Philly traded away, LA won with... Or do you root for Phoenix who will say all they needed to do was get rid of Bryz to win.... Oh man, the Flyers better pull this out, or I might not watch the rest of the year....
- RooNosHockey

Root for Flyers West - Justin Williams (hated that trade), Mike Richards, and Jeff Carter.

I would probably root for them. But, I think I'm gonna go for PHX instead. I can't picture Richie lifting that trophy up before the Orange & Black

Defense wins cups. Our forwards are great, no doubt. No one said anything about blowing up the team in 2 years if they dont win. All I said is I believe they have a better chance to win now.
