Yeah, okay. It's easier to say that because your not in the situation. I've never read posts from someone so angelic before. Everyone should be like you. - BringBackBalky
Please with all the money he has made seriously he cant afford to forfeit money for a team he loves so so much? Please give me a break and thank you I am an angel for the Islanders |

I'm pretty sure for him it's not about the money at this point. |

again; no one (read: NO ONE!!!!!!) walks away from money when its guaranteed for the next 7-8 years or so...not when its millions upon millions of dollars....this is business, no one cares if he loves the team or not. |

Could be about personal pride. I said probably not about money based on what he's already made and what he will make anyway if he's bought out. |

For your reading pleasure, and because I'm tired of talking about DP. - eichiefs9
I'm pretty sure we're not trading for the first overall pick so my gut still says go with Dumba. Whether that means trading back to get him or picking him at #4, I think I'm pretty sold on him. He seems like the exact type of player that this team needs, |

This is the first year in awhile that I really am torn on who I want to pick. I think if somehow Galchenyuk falls to us, which is not likely unless EDM or CBJ decide to take a flyer on Murray or someone really takes a liking to Forsberg. We need D, but as Pronman points out in that article, and numerous other times, Yak/Grigs/Gally are all on a level above anyone else in the draft.
If it's not him, I'm not sure I'd feel strongly either way between Murray or Dumba. Both immensely improve our defense for the future. Murray seems to be a pretty safe pick, which kind of makes me want him a little more. I love Dumba's game though, it is something this team could use in spades. Neither are elite, but both would be a big win for us. |

I guess I haven't read enough on Galchenyuk as opposed to Dumba. I just like the intangibles for Dumba more. Plus we could really us the D help. I don't think we're as desperate to go with best player available vs. need right now. |

I thought this was a pretty good excerpt to help get an understanding of where Galchenyuk stands in comparison to the other two:
3. Alex Galchenyuk, Center, Sarnia-OHL:
At this time last year, there were three forwards who people in the industry thought had a chance to go first overall: Mikhail Grigorenko, Nail Yakupov, and Alex Galchenyuk. Grigorenko has the work ethic question mark but the highest upside, Yakupov has the scoring track record and a more explosive style of play but his possession skill set isn't as high end, and Galchenyuk brings a good median between the two which is why some NHL sources thought he had a great chance to go number one overall before tearing his MCL.... |

Ek mentions the Isles are targeting a very big UFA dman. Unless the Isles are going to have a deal in Brooklyn very soon I'm not sure how they will land a big time dman? |

I want them to pick Galchenyuk if only to listen to Butch try to say it. |

Murray would be a great pickup for the Isles. Isles should be in good shape at 4. I have no problem with the Isles staying put. |

We all knew the Islanders weren't going to do anything big and now that Ek said it, it's all but confirmed. |

The only scary thing is that injury. Just never know how they're going to recover from it. |

The two games I saw DeHaan play I was very impressed but saying high end is a bit much at this point. I hope some of these prospects end up as high end players. I think if handled right some of these prospects can be very good players. Strome has a good shot to be high end. - ses111
Yeah, I'm thinking Strome has that potential hopefully. For all we know Cizikas could put up 55 goals next year and win the scoring title but to call him a high end prospect is a joke. I guess it depends on what you consider a high end prospect? If you get a legitimate NHL player from the draft thats always great but don't use that term so loosely. |

He came back and played the last 6 or so games of the season & playoffs and from what I read his skating was fine. |
