I'd still say RNH isn't on Stamkos or Tavares' level. Definitely not Stamoks's level, at least. I really wish Tavares had better talent around him- he's amazing. - isles10289
Tavares isn't on the same level as Stamkos maybe in a couple of years when they both reached there ceilings but until then it really isn't fair to compare. All of these guys are a couple of years apart in age so of course Stamkos is going to be better than Tavares and Tavares is going to better than Hall. long term who is going to be better only time will tell.

also, congrats to the preds for putting their orginazational foot down and standing up to radulov and comp. Love it! Team first! Burkle and Lemuiex hiring shero out of nashville was one of the best moves in pittsburgh hockey history |

Talked with Isles brass and was told Isles are looking to trade pick for a young vet d-man ready to step in and play top 4 minutes next year. Do business with these guys for 20 years. Isles pick is on table. Besides Columbus has no intention of trading the pick.
Bad news on arena. Never pay much attention to B D Galoff of WFAN.com but LI's union leaders say they pay little attention to new arena or HUB thing. Told TOH board are a bunch of clowns (know 4 of them...clowns is rating them to highly), Mangano is not sharp enough to get job done and is tired of dealing with Wang's no compromise stuff.....Wang....I'm with those who think that not only is he a lousy owner, but I think there is something really wrong with him. Nothing he has touched since being ousted at CA has succeeded. Yet, he approaches everything the same my way or the highway stuff. That only works if you have leverage...Wang has none.
Murray has convinced me she doesn't care if the team leaves. She & Wang hate each other and the TOH has croney developers ready to step in and do the HUB with no arena. Things might get done , but it will be even tougher sledding now.
Best news is Suffolk County County Exec is telling people that Li losing the Isles would be a blow LI would never recover from because no other major league sports team would ever move here. Guy says there is land on rt 110 close to either the LIE or SS Pkwy.
Republic Airport is a perfect fit. Suffolk/State own much of the property there but airport itself is run privately. LIRR station within walking distance of airport.
Who the hell knows what will happen on any of these fronts. Tired of the whole thing. - [email protected]

Same thing was said with Carter and Richards... - keatondixon
But weren't they moved bc mngmt wanted a "culture change" in the locker room?
There aren't any issues like that with Myers... I really can't see us moving him unless it's for an established #1 center
We do have a bunch of really promising defensemen coming up though,
So I suppose it's possible |

Eklund: islanders trying to acquire top pick - Eklund
.....along with 28 other teams....
It's good that Garth is doing the obvious. I mean, AT LEAST he's doing the obvious.
It PROVES he read the copy of "GMing for Dummies" that I sent him. But really, what do we have to offer in return?
Is Steve Tamby really a "trading-partner" with the Isles, like the Oilers have been with Slats? And after everything our organization did for his son Jeff, I couldn't imagine anything remotely charitable coming back from him so, the asking price will be ridiculous.
And WHY would any GM be trading/swapping picks BEFORE the Draft? Certainly, there's another team out there with a better version of what the Isles could be offering, no?
That being said....I hope they pull it off. It's not often you can get two 1st's that are considered phenominally offensively gifted. Having a younger version of JT would CERTAINLY put bodies in the seats and be exciting to watch but the two would have to score a hat-trick a night to offset the goals scored against a watered down version of our current Defense. I guess it's better than just waiting to submit offers to Weber, Suter, et al.... Good to see some ideas brewing.

Brooklyn is more than ready to step in. Even with 14,500 for hockey the building has plenty of suites. Brooklyn also gives the Isles the media attention and status of the big time. |

nothing short of wins will put butts in the seats in Nassau. The hype around the JT pick was amazing but it never went anywhere and won't until the team actually wins some... |

Armia, Pysyk and your 1st? - dragonslade
That sounds more likely, but I still wouldn't do it...
And I don't think the Sabres would either
I see us moving up for Galchenyuk... Not Yakupov...
So our target is prob the Isles #4 pick or Toronto's #5
Pysyk is getting close to "untouchable" status they way he's been coming along
As it stands now, our top4 for the next 8years looks like...
Ehrhoff-Myers
McNabb-Pysyk
It almost wouldn't matter who our 3rd pair would be
And the Sabres were dancing when mcneil fell to them...
That should tell u how much they like Armia,
Because they didn't even hesitate to take him...
They had him as top5 talent in the draft and we were "shocked" he was available
That along with his dominant play in the world juniors and how well he looked in his regular league... I don't see him moving either
I actually think they like Armia so much that they are having discussions about possibly moving Vanek
I believe u will see Roy dealt for sure and it's prob 50/50 on vanek, depending in if they get the return they want for him |

At the moment, he definitely isn't... But I think he had a better rookie season than either of those guys. They're different players though, and each were surrounded with varying degrees of talent... It's impossible to tell what will happen in the future though. I wouldn't be so quick to limit Yakupov's potential...
And I'm not saying he'll be better than any of these guys... I'm just saying nobody really knows... - laughs2907

Does one of these guys play for the Isles or likely to be the first overall???? I'm confused. |

The Isles need a big time coach and get this building mess fixed already. It's simple go to Brooklyn. The number 1 pick should not be a big priority. Isles make smart moves with the propsects than are building they will be fine. |

My price would likely be Moulson + de Haan + 4th overall. A high price, but dems the ropes. |
