As a pens fan, the isles are starting to make me nervous. for awhile, they definately were a joke, but they are on the right track. (still going to laugh at the yashin and rdp contracts for years to come though) and don't forget, they play in the toughest conference in the league right now. all in all, rather be an isles fan than a leafs fan... they at least have excuses for being in the dunps in the recent past... how come a franchise that fills its seats every game despite losing still cant get their act together?

Over the last 5 years, the Leafs haven't done very well.

Over the last 20 seasons, the Islanders have been the biggest joke of the NHL, hands down, no question. No team in the NHL has missed the playoffs more than the Isles in the last 20 seasons. 6 playoff appearances, 5 of which were first round exits. Plus things like Dipietro on contract until infinite, a joke of a GM, no arena, and a good possibility of moving.

Yakupov would cost the Isles Hamonic + the number four pick..... and if not Hamonic another very solid young D-man plus the number 4 overall.

Edmonton doesn't really want to select Yakupov (They need D) but will if the offers aren't right.

We don't have another solid D man. Some fans may say DeHaan but no, not yet. Hamonic is going no where. If this EVER happened its happening without Hamonic. Snow will lose what few people he has left that think he is doing a good job. Hamonic is going no where, you can book it, save it, stick it, whatever you want? Doesn't matter. Not happening, I can see this happening but it is not going to be Hamonic going the other way. We have no d men to begin with, we aren't going to trade are most talented player at that position for Yak, we are on HOCKEYBUZZ everyone, this is make believe world. Don't take the blue pill!

I'd still say RNH isn't on Stamkos or Tavares' level. Definitely not Stamoks's level, at least. I really wish Tavares had better talent around him- he's amazing.

It's impossible to tell what will happen in the future though. I wouldn't be so quick to limit Yakupov's potential...

And I'm not saying he'll be better than any of these guys... I'm just saying nobody really knows...

Nashville, huh? Hands are pretty full with the Quebec Nord- I mean Phoenix Coyotes right now. Isn't your arena less than half full during playoff games? Have fun with Radulov once Weber and/or Suter leave lol plus, there's so much to address, I won't even bother, except for the moving part. You obviously haven't even heard a thing about it, because there's a zero chance of them moving out of NY.

Every single person who has scouted him, written about, him, etc. has said that. I've seen Yakupov play, and while he's a very good player, he's not Stamkos/Tavares level.

I haven't been to the arena in Nashville but i had a blast there and was trying to get to the flyer's game there in January. Good times. If the governor there had a pair i might consider moving there.

Talked with Isles brass and was told Isles are looking to trade pick for a young vet d-man ready to step in and play top 4 minutes next year. Do business with these guys for 20 years. Isles pick is on table. Besides Columbus has no intention of trading the pick.

Bad news on arena. Never pay much attention to B D Galoff of WFAN.com but LI's union leaders say they pay little attention to new arena or HUB thing. Told TOH board are a bunch of clowns (know 4 of them...clowns is rating them to highly), Mangano is not sharp enough to get job done and is tired of dealing with Wang's no compromise stuff.....Wang....I'm with those who think that not only is he a lousy owner, but I think there is something really wrong with him. Nothing he has touched since being ousted at CA has succeeded. Yet, he approaches everything the same my way or the highway stuff. That only works if you have leverage...Wang has none.

Murray has convinced me she doesn't care if the team leaves. She & Wang hate each other and the TOH has croney developers ready to step in and do the HUB with no arena. Things might get done , but it will be even tougher sledding now.

Best news is Suffolk County County Exec is telling people that Li losing the Isles would be a blow LI would never recover from because no other major league sports team would ever move here. Guy says there is land on rt 110 close to either the LIE or SS Pkwy.

Republic Airport is a perfect fit. Suffolk/State own much of the property there but airport itself is run privately. LIRR station within walking distance of airport.

Who the hell knows what will happen on any of these fronts. Tired of the whole thing.
