For what it's worth Bob Mac who is usually spot on believes Giroux will be suspended. Perhaps a blessing in disguise. I'm sure his teammates won't allow his season to end while he's sitting in a press box. - PLindbergh31
If he isn't then Shanahan stands to lose more street cred. Claude was clearly pissed and imo targeted the head. The damage was minimal but that's not the spirit of the rule. It was a selfish play. |

Kovalchuk didn't play game 2, Devils did ok, James Neal was out for Game 4, Devils and Pens rallied around that and went out and kicked ass. I expect the Flyers to do the same thing if they are in the same position. - PLindbergh31
True. I just rather have him in the lineup. |

funny ... coming into this series everyone expected Bryz to be the reason if the Flyers lost.
Instead he's been their best player. |

He was definitely frustrated. He showed a lack of composure, and maturity there. It happens, without Giroux the Flyers are a 75-80 point team and not even in the playoffs, so I'm not going to criticize him for having a bad moment. |

Yup. This is true. If they lose this series, the goaltender should be the last player blamed, that is for sure. |

okay ... 99% of people would have picked Bryz as the reason the Flyers would lose to the Devils. |

..........and this I think is what makes this series all the more frustrating for us fans. He's playing well but now most of the rest of the team isn't. |

yeah.
plus I think most of us could accept losing this series if we just saw some competitive play. But wtf, they're being dominated on nearly every shift.

Why don't they change strategies? It's been the same thing for all four games. Don't you think they would change tactics at some point? |

I still think the Flyers can come back in this series, but they have to relax and starting playing a TEAM-ORIENTED game again. They were all trying to do too much as individuals tonight, and it showed. There wasn't one good player on our team tonight other than the man between the pipes.
Our transition game is in a rut, which is probably the biggest problem we face right now. That and the lack thereof one-on-one battle victories. Where's our will and desperation? We've been saying this for 3 games now, and we're still losing practically every battle.
It's very frustrating, but hopefully we can build some momentum at home in Game 5. The players are clearly frustrated and lack confidence right now. |

I have a very hard time seeing the Flyers take even one more game, let alone the series at this point. After eight periods or so of the same problems, the same mistakes, I don't know this team has an answer. From the get go, this was a painful, frustrating game to watch. It doesn't feel good.
That said, and feel free to point out that it's entirely contradictory and makes no sense (because it is and it doesn't), I still believe they can do it. |

Not contradictory at all. Of course they can; I have my doubts they will, though, too. They can't consistently do the things that work, and you have to give the Devils credit for a lot of that.
The Flyers' frustration is their own undoing.
